I suspect you are going to see a really nice 21' and its Mall Crawler tow pullin' in pretty soon, with a man from Iowa in need of a beer and conversation..... and a woman in need of someone else besides her listening to the monologue ....

Second cup of coffee my dad always said, I'll be along directly if old Tojo can pull the bridge.

Watch the water levels, just a year ago, Red Dog was sitting right where you are and the Mississippi River kept climbing. On Thursday they told him he had to leave and we all ended up at a beautiful campground at Scott County Park.

Your man on the river reporting

Hi all
Here's a report from one end of the horse. Your choice
Campground is very nice. River is low. It would take a ten inch rain in southern Wisconsin a week to get down here
Man at the gatehouse very friendly and had my reservation card right there in front of him
Sites are paved and level.
Water hydrants here and there throughout the campground so if you don't have water on I'd suggest you fill up before setting up. If you forget I'll loan you a 5 Gallon jug but I ain't luggin it for you. Beautiful sunset, quite a little walk to the restroom. I can hear the fish working in the river. Going to get a three day license tomorrow ($15.50). Three bars on verizon

We are in McGregor, IA and plan to get there this afternoon. Staying at Spook Cave campground. Very nice park with babbling brook behind our camper.

That's a nice area. The brook is the upper end of Bloody Run Creek which is a very nice trout stream. Here at Thompson, the morning has revealed a bumper crop of hickory nuts all about. Behind site number 118 a raft of Canadian geese beckons hello th fellow Canadians Adrian and Beth. I saw several great blue herons, an Egret and some juvenile red bellied woodpeckers. This morning. Also some restroom poetry.
Later

Hi all
Rigs are rolling in. Looks like the 21s will predominate. Also here, at least two scamps, a Casita, a 1974 boler and a lots of real nice folks. Fire to tonight, socializing with all the folks from 32 to 80. Fiberglass through the decades

Campsite free

Hi All!
Just to let you know that site 115 may be open. We had to cancel.
I called and officially canceled it through recreation.gov .
So if there are any Escapees who are late to the game, here's your chance for a prime spot!
Have a wonderful time everyone!

Site 115

Sorry you weren't able to make it. Perhaps next year or at another function. Fish were not biting this morning. And no that's not the bait, it's what I caught.

Thumbs up Photos

Thanks for the photos, guys. Love the appetizer, Dave!

From the looks of your pics, the campground has filled up...And what a glorious weekend it's going to be!
Perfect camping and fishing weather.

Well, we'll make it to the Causeway at some point.

Please give my regards to all, and have a great time! Dave, try to catch something just a wee bit bigger, so you'll have a good fish story to tell.

What great photos! Looks like a great crowd. I see some faces I recognize from last year. Who won the torque contest?

And such a beautiful view of the water too. It looks like y'all are having a great time. Thanks for sharing!

It has been wonderful with the only problem being an unknown vandal leaving an industrial waste product around my campsite last night
