I'd be happy to help, and I'll think on it. Just remember we all have our skills and logistics might not be my strong suit. Besides, part of the appeal was not knowing what would happen next. That's why we need Eric, he has years of classroom experience "herding cats", as they say. You on the other hand are clearly one of those creative types, and you can't put a timer on art.

I don't know if I could sneak them out from work but I just picked up this little beauty from Proto.
It looks identical to ones the ones we have at work but it's not the "military grade" (therefore significantly less expensive). That said, I'm sure it's still more than good enough for the lugs on a camper.
If my memory is correct it might even be the same one Dave has.

I'm feeling so inferior with my cheap Harbor Freight model compared to you two.. of course my original one is a beam one that could probably easily win in an oldest torque wrench contest.

Hi Jim
Looks like a 30 to 150 which is what I have. Eric's is older and he probably knows how to use it. I'm thinking of going up .25 on my glasses before fall.

This event appears to be taking on the semblance of a testosterone driven competition and not a rally or polite social gathering .
Time to reconsider .
Hope you have a great time and pleasant weather.

Yet, from what I understand, won last year by an estrogen driven competitor.
Many rallies have some sort of competition for fun, bocce, snake toss, or the like. Having fun is the core reason for the rallies.

99% of this thread is just having some fun and those posting aren't even planning to attend. Thread drift is common as you know. I think it's funny!

Speaking of drifts, the strong Chinook winds yesterday were sure taking our snow and depositing it in big piles.

And here I was having such a good laugh over this thread. Bummer.
I'm sorry to read that offense was taken...I'm absolutely sure none was meant.

Last year's winner Linda with some of her prizes. Hopefully she will be back this year to defend her title.

As an old guy who has been cured of his case of testosterone poisoning, I still had a great time at the torque contest last year. All in good fun and a great time was had by everyone.
I don't even own a torque wrench. yet....

We're picking up our 19 in June so we'll definitely be ready to meet the groupies at the end of September. Though I'm not certain about that border crossing into Illinois, the wall might be done by then.

We usually cross over into Minnesota then head South through Iowa and then cross over into Illinois.
Since Cambridge ( A really nice small town, been there numerous times) is in the SE corner of Wisconsin , the Iowa route maybe out of your way but well worth the time and effort in our estimation. Iwegans are an extremely kind and friendly people and we have greatly enjoyed our trips to Iowa.

I was adamant that ladies be invited to this competition last year. I have great respect for women in general and especially women who know how to use tools. My mother was an inspector at Century Engineering during WWII. They made the gears that opened the bomb doors on the B 29s. She stamped her initials on every gear. She knew that perfection would bring her husband, my Dad back home from Germany where he was a tanker with the third armored div. motto Victory or Death.
I've hired women, depended on women and loved women my whole life. There's no
Testosterone involved, only respect.

Well, they threw us out last year and we went to plan B and camped in Iowa. You can always cross into Iowa without touching Illinois soil. No wall, just a big creek.
