2018 Bluebonnet Attendees
Was a good rally this year in Bandera. Unseasonably cool on Wednesday through Friday, light rain on Friday night and Saturday morning, but it cleared to a nice warm and sunny Saturday afternoon.
We were told there were 132 Casitas, 11 Escapes, 3 Olivers, 2 Bigfoots, 2 Scamps, 1 Eggcamper and 5 SOBs. One of the SOBs was a Trillium, one looked like a Boler clone and I didn't see the others. Got to see lots of old friends and make some new ones. That alone is reason enough to attend.
We were not able to attend on Wednesday and Thursday, so we missed out on what was reportedly a great evening with a live band on Wednesday, and a BBQ feast on Thursday. Friday night was the wine fiesta and hors d'oveurs, followed by a quite fun and hilarious karaoke.
A special shout out to Fred and Dora, as well as Dave (H46Driver here on the forum) who volunteered setting up games and recreation. The Ladderball tournament was alot of fun.
Lots of door prizes this year, which was great because almost every attendee won something. Casita and Oliver donated several items, and there were also several cash giveaways and gift certificates, including two $100 gift certificates from Larry Gamble at Little House Customs. The volunteer list was long too. A big thanks to all the volunteers. These rallies could not happen without you.

We too enjoyed a great Bluebonnet Rally, just our second to attend. Laura and I wanted to get to meet you and came by Past Tents a few times but always missed you and we had to leave about noon on Friday. So catch you sometime in the future! And yes thanks to all who volunteered for all of your good work!

Dutch Oven Demo. I was impressed with the contraptions the DO's were sitting on. Thus, my pics...

One thing I find that happens a lot, at least with me, is I meet a lot of great folks at rallies, and have no idea what their username is on the forums, despite having conversations there too. In many cases I do put that together, but there are certainly many that I don't.

This is a good idea. I can't go incognito even if I wanted.

I toyed with the idea of NOT showing our Escape during the "egg" parade. It's old (classic), with many differences if folks are buying new. Who would want to see it?
People did want to see it, however. Some didn't know the difference (which we of course explained), some thought they probably would "buy used" anyway; but mostly, showing the trailer was just a great way to meet people... Of course the same goes for looking at some of the other trailers... And, I finally got to see the inside of an Egg Camper. (Can you tell we don't rally much?)
