My Dad always said to be nice to old guys. A lot of their friends are gone now.

Flooding is overblown, Sites down by the water are all full of trailers. No different than other years really but it's smoking hot already so I guess the situation could change.

Yes two buddies, but it's Rita I feel sorry for, having to sit opposite you two "old guys." Looks like y'all and we too are missing this year's rally but perhaps we'll all be back next year. We certainly plan to, Beth has a quilt retreat she wants to attend on Vcr Island earlier in May.

Morning update

There are 24 Escapes here this morning.

Don’t forget to ask for your Rally 10% discount. They don’t volunteer the better rate when you drive up with an Escape trailer wearing an Escape shirt and an Escape cap.

Hey they are camp ground operators not mind readers. Ever think it could be your good looking rig and their thought, he doesn’t need a discount.? Gonna be 90 and muggy here the next week or so. Wish we were there where they tell flatlanders “it’s a dry heat”. Driving some steel fence posts today so those wascally wabbits won’t get my beans. Had to come in for a lemonade.

Beat me to it, my wife and I were going to go for a walk and count the Escapes.

Thanks for the report Bill and Tom. Hope the bird cannons are not going full bore. Going to miss the spicy grits for breakfast.

I make a lot of mistakes but one of them was not passing up a nice helping of spicy grits at the breakfast potluck last year. Nothing against poutine I usually get some at Betty’s in September. But always trying to be All American I cover the southern part of the country not with a roadmap but with a wide leather belt and a coiuple yards of Carhartt cloth.

Okay, that breakfast on Sunday is one we have missed for 3 years now, may have to stay next year and leave at noon vs 6 am. We try to get home on Wednesday, thus get an early start, but things may get more relaxed as I age.

Hi: cpaharley2008... Got a mouth full of "True grit" yesterday. Wind came up to 45 mph and sucked up the new sandbase for the road. Alf
