Yes, we got caught in the storms, it was a trip from hell, left Sunday am and had rain from time hitting Montana and it turned to sleet, freezing rain and finally snow and then the storms hit. It rained so hard that I could not see, crept along for maybe 300 years until miraculous there was a rest area, we pulled in between 2 semi’s for protection, 75 mph winds, rain/hail sideways, I90 was closed down. I was afraid the trailer vents would be destroyed. Fortunately the semi’s protected us. We had to sat in the car, 6” inches of water all around us. Next am we found out some had their wiper blades blown off! We continued to Wyoming where there was heavy fog, limited visibility, 10 mpg against he wind, we stopped every 2 hours to get gas. Finally we hit South Dakota where the second batch of storms hit, not as bad as the first but limited visibility. We managed that night to sleep in the trailer at a rest stop. Tuesday was rain until we hit Indiana where we saw the sun, finally. Stopped at a truck stop and made it home yesterday just before the storms hit here ? what a trip. We say a truck blow out right in front of us ? that and the limited visibility made us lucky to be safe- Franklin was with us in spirit….

Wow, and all I had to worry about was finding a TA or a Flying J or anything on down the I-15 late at night through the Salt Lake City metro area, oh, ...and the fridge not cooling on propane. Think you managed to dodge a pretty big bullet.
Will be ordering a new gasket, and this thingo from my nearest Dometic dealer.

Hey Jim, you’re home safe and sound and warm and dry. That’s good, we traveled back home starting on Monday. Perfect weather Sunday, Monday,Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Rain in Ft. Pierre So Dak on Friday night and great camping in Iowa at a county park Saturday night. So give Dinah a listen, give Noelia a slow dance in the kitchen and think about all the great nights you’ll have in your new 21.

Myron, that thingie is a storage lock to keep your door open while in storage to allow air circulation....not needed but is handy....

You remember when you did the dollar check on the fridge the door easily opened? I did that again when at home yesterday and was able to pull the door open but without pressing the latch buttons. It opened without trouble, by pulling from the side. This tells me that there was no door latch catching. Must assume the hook grabs around that plastic thingie when it is recessed and not being used for storage venting.

Myron, that thingie will prevent your latch from grabbing the door, make sure it is recessed so that the latch hook, visible in your picture can grab the door to hold shut.

When I see these photos I think about Reace rebuilding that first used trailer years ago, and what Escape has grown into....can't imagine how it must feel for him to look out on that sea of Escape trailers at the rally!

Nice Photo. With the non Escapes interspersed throughout the campground it’s a hard to get a “pure”’ photo. Regardless,
Escapes were “everywhere you looked”.

Jim,
Sorry to hear how hellish your trip home was, but glad to hear you got there safely.
We were pleased to meet you face to face, rather than just on the Forum. Seeing your pictures reminds us that we promised to post your picture from the first nights dinner. So here it is.
