See what happens when you drive into a red X lane past the stop sign and tell them you really didn’t want to go to Canada. Jail time was looking preferable.
Good food at Betty’s for sure. If you’re looking for a little drive in the next couple days, Niagara on the Lake is an enchanting town with great flowers and great architecture (Victorian). You’ll see the flower clock on the way. See you tomorrow.

Border Crossing
We hope to meet some of our Escape comrades re: this rally. We didn't do much socializing at the Osoyoos Rally. I think we were just played out from the trip.
We will be set up in slot 16. I have made some modifications to the way the Lagun table mounting system is attached to the back seat/floor which some folks may be interested in seeing. I couldn't visualize an improvement to Bill 'from Idaho's' main contributions: the 3/4in x 1/8in by 48in long steel angle to transfer load and the particular steel brackets which he used. Thanks Bill. But I did managed to avoid using using threaded inserts or bolts to hold down the floor plate.
I also built a new table out of Bloodwood. This is the most god awful wood to fashion into anything but somehow I survived the experience. Here's a shot taken during the finishing phase. The wood comes from Australia. This is old stock that I've had around for nearly 30 years.

Love that table. Arrived Niagara rally yesterday afternoon. Great to see some former attendees and meet a few new ones. Looking forward to a great rally. Rain, rain go away.

Hi All
We got in about 6PM last night. 400 mile day from Fort Wayne. Plenty of light left for setup and cooking dinner with the Q120. Highlander and 21 got a thumbs up on the way from a guy in Ohio. Lots of law enforcement on the Ohio Turnpike. Then had a seamless border crossing where the female Canadian agent asked four questions Guns, Liquor and the dog we had with us, were we returning to the United States with him? Never had that one before. And when were we returning. Otherwise $7.50 US on the Canadian end of the bridge and boom you’re there. Gotta make a WalMart run as we forgot a couple things and we don’t bring any fruit or vegetables in. The best laid plans of mice and men gang oft to glay. Help me there Scotsmen.

When we come in to Canada at Detroit, Sarnia or Buffalo we pay a toll for crossing the bridge. The amount is posted in both US and Canadian dollars.
We owe, we owe
So it’s off to Canada we go.
We pay $7.50
The scenery is nifty
We get there by driving through O-HI-O.

Yes but it's free to cross into the US on any of the Niagara bridges, at least it was last time we were there going to Buffalo in 2015 from the rally.

I don’t keep track of which way we’ve paid over the years and maybe I’ve made an error over the years but I do know we paid $7.50 yesterday. I understand tolls, fees and various forms of revenue generation and feel fortunate to be able to travel freely and if there’s a cost to not staying home I pay it. Costs money to go racing.

Fantastic pics. What a great weekend. Lucked out with the weather cooperating Friday for the bonfire and Saturday for the pot luck. What a great group of people. If we didn’t get to say goodbye to you we send our best to one and all. Hope to see you on the road.

Thanks!
My first post on this forum was six months ago asking if Marian and I could drop by Saturday to check out your Escapes and ask lots of questions. The reply was "of course" so we did yesterday and thank you all for making us feel welcome. So now we have to wait another six months to pick up our 5.0 TA on March 4, 2020, which we ordered in August. Our build sheet was completed with input from Linda of ETI, Bob & Barbara in Fergus who's 2019 5.0 made it "real" for us, and reading this forum extensively. Thank you every one for your great insight and advice!

Hi: RonB... Niagara Wine Escape 2019 is now history or her story. Depends on your perspective. Thanks to all who played a part, came to look at trailers, or came to look at owner ideas. I hope we all did just what we wanted to do and had to leave some things... there's always next year.
Looks as if Labour Day is late in 2020 so we will be too!!! Dates are Sept 18- 20 but you can come early and stay late as your reservations at the Riverside Motel and Camp Ground permit. Safe travel and camping Alf
