7th Annual Eggscursion April 24-27, 2014 Townsend, TN

The 7th Annual Eggscursion will be April 24-27, 2014. It will be held at the KOA in Townsend, TN. Reserve sites 46-123 first. Make sure you tell them you are with the Egg Camping Club to get the $32.00 per night rate. We are looking forward to this new campground next year because it will have all of us closer together and on more level ground. The staff at KOA has been great to work with already to make sure we will have everything we need to make this the best Eggscursion ever. Townsend is at the entrance of the Smokey Mountain National Park and is a great place to plan a vacation around.

Reservations can be made by contacting

Townsend / Great Smokies KOA | Camping in Tennessee | KOA Campgrounds

We attended in 2010 and had a very good time. A beautiful location and very nice folks.

I knew the campground changed, but I was referring to the town of Townsend when I said "beautiful location" - right at an entrance to the Smoky Mt. NP. and away from the obnoxious crowds and commercialism of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. And the "nice folks" were the other egg-owners, not the people who ran the old campground.

As a matter of fact, after the rally, I did a review on Lazy Daze, (the old campground), and didn't rate it very highly. I was very glad to see they moved the rally to a nicer place.

What's wrong with a 21'?
This is the same week as the Texas BlueBonnet, so I'm sitting on the fence right now.

Last year we made it to check out Jim's 19. This year we'll be on our way to pick up our brand new 19 @the factory. Maybe we'll make it in 2015!

I forget about those new campers I have not seen yet. That's what happens when you make quick post at work.

I can tell you a easier way in so you can avoid Pigeon Forge/ Gatlinburg this year.

That might be a challenge! We will take a very quick trip to Chilliwack to get our orientation. We will then take the next 2+ months as we very slowly return back to Western North Carolina. This will be the start of my retirement and we will be learning how to become Escape explorers! Can't wait!!!

Hi: Kountrykamper... My retirement starts in 5 weeks less a day!!! Does that sound like a sentence?
Sorry we can't make the rally this year as we'll be headin' north late Mar. from 3 months in Florida. Then late May going to pick up our new 5.0 Tandem and attend the Escape Rally in Osoyoos B.C.
Now that's how to kick off retirement!!! Alf

Don,
Tell Tammy and Kim if there is a cancellation you would want to take it earlier if possible, something may open up. The 21' right after mine cancelled, but Dec4 th maybe too soon.
