Just got to tour a Bigfoot 21, and also an Oliver Elite II. Wow, especially on the Oliver.

Have met some nice people and only accused of being "one of those Escape snobs" once (by a lady working the registration/stuff giveaways).

The friends I was looking forward to seeing apparently could not make it, so my expectations have had to shift...but being an Escape snob, it's been great to get to meet some of y'all!

Yep, was great to finally get to meet you too Mary. By the way, you're about the most un-snobby person here.

It was wonderful to meet you on Friday! I know you are excited about getting your new rig in July. Hope you were able to get some ideas after seeing our rigs. I look forward to running into you on the road!

MaryF,

I would not take it personally. Some people are never happy and take it out on others.

I will say this...the Escapes were a huge hit during open house. I heard nothing but positive reviews and some are seriously considering an Escape in the near future.

By the way.....I did not see you participate in the ladder ball tournament...what gives

Regards,

Fred M.

Likewise Fred! Yolanda mentioned how much she enjoyed meeting you and Dora, and she's a pretty good judge.

Ooo, we watched the competition practicing all week and decided we were out of their league and should instead drive over to Comfort for a wine tasting (which was great, by the way).

I guess you two never crossed paths in Osoyoos last year, good to see you finally did though. Not really that hard to do given the number of folks there. I know I found I did not have enough time to chat with everyone.

You are correct. Last year in Osoyoos, Robert and Yolanda were on the lower part of the RV park, by the lake, and we were on the upper side in the back, by the vineyards. When I finally got a chance to look for him, they had already departed. I am glad it worked out this time!

I can understand why the Nk'Mip upper vineyard class would not associate with the lower level lake dwellers. I was kinda in the middle, so was willing to go either way.

It was great to meet both of you and your wives there. Heck, we never really caught up with you much until the Sunday when the majority of campers had cleared out. So many great folks, so little time.

I am glad I went to the rally. Getting to meet people that I have only read about. Unfortunately a couple of you have had me second guessing my build sheet. Although I could change/add things for $, I will leave it as is. More money left in my pocket for enjoyment of traveling and seeing this great country of ours.

Do not second guess your build sheet. It is your camping style, and yours alone, that should dictate what you add to a perfectly good stock trailer. An option is only a must-have for a certain camping style which may or may not be yours. I find the "Option Race" on this forum sometimes intimidating, especially to newcomers.

There. I said it. Again.

Yes, it seems that there is something like an options race but part of that is that Escape greatly increased the number of options available, and it makes them more on each trailer. They saw what people liked and worked well and they responded to that. It is how they do so well.

Any buyer, however, need not add any options. I think we see the people on here posting build sheets who often order a big list. Of course, the biggest single group of buyers are older people, usually retired or close, (at least from a small survey) and their view is based upon using their Escape a great deal, and needing "everything."

Younger owners may add later. Many people do not see a "later." For many, this is it!!

No worries. Stick with your budget and you will be just fine. We are retired and live full time in our 21' Escape, so we added as many things as we could afford, but we could have been just as happy with half of the options.

You will love your new rig. Safe travels!
