And to think a month ago, the Bluebonnet was in full swing! So far, Skyline Ranch RV park isn't on the list... but still! Bandera RV parks evacuated, flooding continues - The Bandera Bulletin: News

We have had a very wet spring here in the TX Hill Country but yesterday we had a severe rain storm come through. Yes we need the water, but.....Anyway Skyline RV park is slightly uphill so I doubt they will flood but the river (pics Robert posted earlier in this thread) is probably way out of it's banks. Also there are some RV parks along the river in town and they always flood. The towns of Bandera and Boerne were hit particularly hard but not sure what damage was caused.

We (Holly and I) live in Bandera and (high up) on the Medina River. WOW! The river is the highest we have ever seen. Yes, mass flooding. We've had 15 inches in 10ish days. And to think, there has been a draught for the past 8-10 years. Alas, it will be dry for next year's Bluebonnet rally!

MacMan,
Good to hear you are OK. As I drive around the area (during the hot, dry days) through the low water crossings I often tell myself the rains will come and they sure showed up yesterday!

Tom, glad to hear that you and Holly are ok. I can just imagine the river behind you. Sad to see the flooding in town there.
We have moderate drought conditions here, almost no rain for more than a month.

I am also glad to hear you are ok Tom & Holly. We sure have needed the rain, but think enough is enough for now. Flash flooding in Houston today-again.

Sorry for those affected by excess moisture. Too bad some of that water couldn't be pumped to CA, UT, NV. If we can put a man on the moon, why can't we pump flood waters to where they are needed?

Glad you're high and dry Tom. More rain and t-storms forecasted for the next several days. Anyone in a low area could be in trouble. They're saying by the end of May that most counties in here in south TX will have received more than 20" of rain.

This was posted four hours ago on Facebook. Bandera RV ParkBanderaRV-Park.jpg

I probably shouldn't be trashing the Blue Bonnet rally thread. Just concerned for those folks living in Texas

Interestingly, this wasn't really a "flash" flood. There were plenty of forecasts saying heavy rains and flooding would occur, and for folks along rivers or low lying areas, the advice - some time in advance - was to head for higher ground. I can't figure why folks would have stayed and got flooded out. It's different than a house. It has wheels.
