Crap. We leave the Province to go to the East Coast on the 17th.
I am willing to pay a fee to get in the 15th or 16th if this is possible.

Should I be bringing a second set of shoes ie "indoor shoes" to switch into when checking out people's trailers? Never been to a rally before and don't know standard procedure or etiquette.
The only way I'm getting in early is to register like a trailer owner. I want to see as many escape 19s and 17s as possible, and to see how they are inside on a hot sunny day with no AC.
Now the tough part: to get my wife out with me

For us it is always shoes on unless muddy. We find it much easier to sweep every day or two, rather than dealing with taking shoes on and off all the time. There are some that do not wear shoes it all inside, so sock feet would be just fine.

We're long time boaters and we always take off our shoes before going inside someone's boat or trailer unless they see us starting to take off our shoes and say not to.

Jon I don't think you'll see many 17's and 19's at the rally. There's maybe 15 Escapes registered and think most are 5.0's and 21's but do come everyday if you've registered for the full event. You will experience what a rally is all about.

We usually always wear sandles or crocs when touring trailers and kick them off even if owners say OK to leave on. It's a Canadian thing.

It's maybe a Manitoba thing. While I gladly accept the wishes of others in their trailers, we only remove footwear if badly sold or muddy. Seems easier to sweep out once a day, or so. Mind you, we had all solid surface flooring at home and it is the same thing there. Maybe Albertans (at least some of us) are different?

Smile

We are in awe of the organization that must have gone into this extraordinary event !! Congratulations to Ian, Joan, and your helpers - just amazing !!! This really is an event we should be attending, but alas was not to be.
Originally we thought Wpg., August, mosquito season - don't think so. However we did rethink and had planned to park with relatives because I grew up in part in Wpg., we also celebrated our 50th anniversary this year, and we had wished to buy one of the very first Bolers that had arrived on a Vancouver lot back in 1968. Unfortunaely for us it was priced at $800. and our limit was $500. Just could not afford those extra $300.
We wish everyone a wondeful time with sunshine every day and hope you'll post lots of photos!

Yup ... may well be a Manitoba thing ...we do just like Adrian and Beth ...... think it may be because from Oct. to April there is so much snow ( in the olden days anyway ) one would bring in half a snow bank with each step. It's training ......

The Event is "Sold Out"
We have 454 trailers and about 950 participants from 10 Canadian Provinces and 23 US States.
22 Escape Trailers have registered, including: 2-15', 1-17', 5-19', 14-20'/21'

A great turnout of a great trailer (mind you there are 321 bolers, about 70%)

Joan and I have been working on the event for 4 years and for the past month 14+ hour days, but in just a few more days we are excited to meet all our friends both old and new from across our countries.

Sorry I don't have that data, I only collected the length of the trailers, not the style.

It's fine, I'll just walk around and count. See you in Winnipeg Ian! Safe, safe travels.

Well I was wrong on the numbers. I hadn't counted on the participants list lately. That's great having 23 Escapes hopefully Ian has us all in same area. I was right on the split on sizes though 9 19 and under 14 20-21.

I'm in GA now flying to Thunder Bay Friday home with Beth and trailer Sat. Gardening and stuff Sunday Monday then off to Wpg Tuesday can hardly wait for the biggest Fibreglass party ever
