Events website?

Does anyone know of a good website that lists events in one's area? When traveling around in my Escape I know that I have missed events that I would liked to have seen, simply because I didn't know they were taking place. Besides trailer rallies (of course) I mean things like state and county fairs, airshows, car shows, art exhibits, etc. A website like I'm thinking of would let a person enter his/her location and check off categories of stuff the person was interested in. Something like that must exist. Does anyone know of a resource like this?

First thing I did as a news photographer, in any community, is to pick up the local newspaper. Many now have web sites, so you could just Google the community name and "newspaper" or "Chamber of Commerce".

Hi Mike I usually look up the town website where I am staying as most have a section for visitors that sometimes has a calendar of events. Also I try Googling events or what's happening in .......
Hope this helps, it's always worked for me.

There is this place: Socialvents They also have an app for iPhones.

I have noticed that smaller, community focused casinos will often/sometimes have local events like car shows or "best of the northwest" type events.
