Guadalupe River Rat Rally - Split from ETI Rally

We are heading for Texas as we speak. I can’t seem to find info on the rally on this site. What am I doing wrong? Is there a number to call to reserve?

Is there a rally Near San Antonio this coming weekend? Thought we would stop if there is space. Waiting for a reply.

The organizers are at a funeral today for a fellow egg owner so any message replies may be delayed.

I was there this weekend (L&L Campground) where the River Rat Rally is held and the water is moving pretty good, pic attached.

It certainly is. There's a creek right behind our property called Devil's Hollow that is usually just a trickle this time of year, but the water from the Guadalupe (top of the photo) has the creek way up.Click image for larger version

Just left Sea Rim State Park in Sabine. Headed west to parts unknown. Any suggestions?

Checking on the TPWD website and Lost Maples has no open W/E sites until 12/3. This time of the year it is virtually impossible to get a site and there are long lines of cars to just to get in (at least on weekends). A beautiful park. A hidden gem is Kickapoo Cavern SP. The park has a few E/W/S sites and tours thru a undeveloped cave on weekends. Flashlights required

We just spent the night at Kerrville-Schreiner Park. The facilities were nice, the only complaint is near by road noise. We were in the riverside camp area (can’t see the river from campsites) seems like the hillside area maybe quieter.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Now for breakfast at a great German restaurant in Fredericksburg (Old German Restaurant and Bakery) then ??

Yes, it is quieter and deer seem to hang around the area.

Lost Maples is indeed hard to book. But, you can camp in some commercial parks in the area and just do the hiking loops.

Hmm, looks like a nice rally. I’m a native Houstonian, and believe me, floating on the Guadalupe at New Braunfels towing a tube a tube full of ice and beer was the way to Elysian back then! And the river looks plenty full to float.

The river is way up from all the rain, so much so that many of the float areas are a bit dangerous right now. And, it's much cooler out. Float season pretty much ends around here about the end of September.
