Hi: bouterse... P.M. sent... Been Escaping the humidity up north along the shore of Lake Huron. Sat. night had a slab of mouth watering prime rib at Gilley's Feed Lot http://www.gilleysfeedlot.com in Kincardine then watched a mass pipe band parade up& down Queen st. Counted at least 90 pipers + drums. Just love the "Skirl o' the pipes"!!! Alf

Alf, a lady with whom I worked when I was in Western Iowa was in the Omaha pipe band, and later moved to Kansas City. She was still competing several times a year in Canada up till a couple of years ago. They get pretty serious about their love of piping, have numerous social gatherings, drink heartily, and dedicate themselves to their craft. Hey just like Fiberglass camper afficianados. We are getting the 19 ready to go, Rita put a fine wash job on it this AM while I mowed the grass. Yes, I know, I got the better deal.

We'll be there, have the 19 ready for your inspection, buy the first round, and tell you a tall story. What else is there?

Alf, puttin the fine tune on the rigs this weekend. Talked to Teresa, my daughter and son in law in Ft Wayne yesterday. They will be up on Thursday afternoon late. Bringing some additional beer varieties and corroboration for some of my outrageous, nearly unbelievable, stories. Gotta love kids that will back you up. Got some Love Bug info from the son of the Iowa producer to share, looking forward to the rally.

It wasn't so much the backing up as reaching into my back pocket for my wallet. I got carpal tunnel from punching the leather all the time, now arthritis in my hand. Oh the tragedy of it all.
Wouldn't trade it for the world though , would you?
Dave

Is Jon, and the fellow next to him, sleeping or praying?

Mary Anne is looking at them like they are strange.

Photo at Betty's

Jim,
Let's get a few things straightened out here. In the picture, I am setting next to Jon. He is not strange. I cannot tell you if he was praying or not. On the other hand, I am very strange and people look at me like that all the time. Before I got the CPAP, I was known to fall asleep while someone was saying a prayer. That really complicated the issue. However, in this photo, I am praying that I can get in line before Alf gets all the smoked salmon. I am also praying that my plate holds up to the load I'm gonna put on it. Today, I prayed that I get to do it all again a week from tomorrow, God Willing, the creek don't rise and the Marathons hold together. Had a great fish fry buffet in Madison county last night. It was at the Iowa trappers convention. Did not see Clint Eastwood, or any other Coca Cola Cowboys. Just hard trapping men and women who can skin a coyote and bake an apple pie.

I'm glad you were able cut in front of Alf. He would have had a conniption if he had gone to Osoyoos this year and been told all the food was gone on Friday. See you next week Dave.
