enjoyed the write up, one observation, your Ford Flex always looks so clean after towing so many miles, mine is never that lucky.

Thank you for posting a link and sharing the blog! I learned a lot about what these types of trips could be like, from where you stayed to what you did while traveling. Baking bread? Never would have considered it... My dad used to wrap hot dogs in foil and put them on the V8 engine block while we were motoring long distances, but I don't know if there is room under the hood for that anymore.

I just loved the historical references and day to day insights, too. I always wondered if the sink cover was actually useful.

Ditto the comment on the clean Ford. Or did you only take pictures of your tug when it was freshly washed?

Thanks for the positive comments. It's good to see that the blog is interesting and helpful.

As for the clean Flex, it got a bath to wash off the winter road salt early in the trip before entering Florida. The dirtiest it got after that was a thick coating of pollen, probably washed away by rain, and then it accumulated more road salt on the way home.

I thought the grandchild was funny saying that it it ridiculous for two people to sleep in the same bed because one will push the other one out!
