See our Escape 19 on the Road

I have an idea that I'm about to test to see if this works on this forum. Under the subject heading "See our Escape 19 on the Road", I am going to post a link to a Googlemap of an upcoming trip we'll be making. This will give people interested in seeing a 19 a heads up as to where we might connect for a camper showing.

If this map posting works, anybody else with a 19 who would like to post a map of their travel route could also add their map under this heading.

And if it seems workable, maybe others would like to start new subject headings such as "See our Escape 17b on the Road" or "See our Escape 5.0 on the Road."

Great idea Liz....once you get the kinks worked out. Sure wish somebody with a 5.0 would do the same.

Re: See our Escape 19 on the Road

Here's how to do it if you want to post your own trip:

1. Go to https://maps.google.com/ and choose "Get directions."

2. Enter your start and end points, or a sequence of intermediate destinations along your route. Then choose "GET DIRECTIONS" in the blue rectangle. This creates the map.

3. Choose the little icon that looks like a few links of a chain to request a LINK.

4. Check the box by "Short URL."

5. Copy and paste the resulting HTTP address here on the Escape Forum.

6. Please give your trip posting a simple heading to identify it and the dates you will be taking the trip. I think it's best not to give too much info in this public forum, but correspond by private message to reveal more details to those you trust.

Just east of Rapid City, SD is Wall Drugs (you'll see the signs long, long, long before you get to it) and the Badlands of South Dakota. Both unique and interesting in their own way, if time allows.

You're planning some awsome trips......sure hope you post photos here!

I've rode both of these areas by motorcycle several times over the years and now we're looking forward to doing it all again, pulling our Escape......and the whole new adventure that will be. All areas have "tourist traps" that often are't worth the time, let alone the money. However, in Chattanooga we felt that Rock City, Ruby Falls and Lookout Mountain were all worth the time and the money. We try to plan the tourist things early in the mornings to beat the crowds (and while we have the energy. LOL).

Columbia, SC has some beautiful plantations and a historic district of beautiful homes.

JCZ, it's nice of you to mention some highlights, and we, too, especially love the Badlands. It's like going to the moon. I listed many of the towns on the trip to the South simply because we'll be passing through, not necessarily stopping long enough to play tourist this time. Still we would be happy to meet up with someone who wanted to see an Escape 19 anywhere on this route.

We will be taking a 5-week trip in February and March, and would be happy to show interested parties our Escape 19 along the way. Our route is posted at my blog.

Liz,
I read your last blog and about the Dometic fix. Please let us know about the refer.
I also want to warn you that the eastern south is a bit colder this winter, the last 3 storms dropped snow in Al/Ga/Sc/Nc/Va with nothing here in Pa.. I also recommend stopping at Myrtle Beach SC, on the your way, they have a real nice cg, right on the beach, Myrtle Beach Travel Park Campground and a nice sp, about 3 miles south called HuntingtonBeach,SP .

Thanks

I would like to thank Liz and Jay for showing me their Escape 19 while they were camped at Ft. Pickens, Florida. They were gracious and informative hosts and seemed happy with their trailer.

I was wondering if you had a chance to verify whether the Dometic fix is working on your refrigerator on this trip? If it does, can you post what Dometic did to your unit? Thanks

Any chance your travels will take you to Southern California? Friends of ours will be getting one delivered nearby in May, but it would be great to be able to see one before then. We are considering making a purchase... .
