Townsend, Tennessee rally?

Will there be a fiberglass trailer rally at the KOA in Townsend, Tennessee this spring? I haven't seen a notice.

When I was there (KOA) last Sept., they told me the rally was scheduled for April.

Townsend

That gathering is still on. We are scheduled to be there Friday through Sunday. Be sure to ask for the Egg Camper Club discount. It is $40 a night, instead of about double that. This one is looking for leadership. Jon V. actually organized the pot luck at the last minute or that might not have happened last year.
Good location, just not very structured at this point.

The club says this on their website: “These trips are not rallies and are just planned gatherings/camping trips. The club plans no activities and only schedules the dates and the campground. Activities are up to the attendees to plan. We do try to get together in the evening around a fire and share stories and tales. You are welcome to be as active or inactive as you want. Members can also post quick trips in case other members would like to attend.”

We attended this meet several times when it was at the first location, across the stream is another campground, and then this KOA. For some reason, when all the Escapes, Little Snoozy, Parkliner, and Oliver started showing up, the original organizers stopped promoting it. Now it is a NOG or non organized gathering. It is a beautiful location and a pretty drive down I81 in Virginia.

My wife and I are going to be there. This is our first "gathering" and we are looking forward to meeting fellow "egg" owners. If you haven't made reservations yet, you might want to do so quickly. When we made ours several weeks ago, there weren't many sites left. Hopefully by then, the rainy weather here in east Tennessee will let up.

Thanks Donna and others for the info. I just signed up. They have a few spaces left with water/electric hookups. I attended a few years ago and enjoyed it.

I will be attending with my Escape 21 & friends in a Scamp. Plan to spend a couple of days previous of the rally at Cades Cove in the park.

Will there be a fiberglass rally or gathering at the Townsend, Tn KOA in 2020?
Thinking about heading to the GSMNP for some wildflower hikes this April and hoping we might could attend the Rally also if there is one.
Thanks

I would book quick. It looks like available sites are limited.

Townsend April 2020

The Townsend, TN gathering is the 12th annual for the Egg Camping Club of GA, TN & AL and is still shown for the April 17 -20.

This is a well maintained, but pricey KOA which is just outside the Smokies. With the help of a former Escape owner, we have continued to get a significant price reduction, and therefore pretty good turnout. Be sure to mention the Egg Camping Club and try to get the lower price at check-in. Some of the desk people may not know about the better price. I'll predict about $45 per night for the riverside sites, which are probably all taken, but they have three price levels ranging from riverside with EWS, to non-riverside with EWS, to others with WE.

We are booked for April 13-20.

Bill: Our dates are off by one day. Their website shows April 16-19 which is consistent with the Th-Sun of years past. I just don't want anyone confused if they are planning to attend.
