Going to Monterey CA.. here's a nice stop

This is a great location for visiting Monterey CA or even better, catching the races @ Laguna Seca Race Track! A large County Park with incredible views of the valley and the race track. The city of Monterey is 15 minutes away and this park is ideal for off road cyclists. With miles of trails you can’t go wrong with this choice. So check out our short 3 minute review! Hey Jeff,
Bummed I missed you! One odd thing though about Laguna Seca is (for the RV'ing gun enthusiast) it has a firing range. I haven't camped there (but have practiced at the range). I often wonder how well one is insulated from the other ... and always felt it was an odd place for a range. Regardless, Laguna Seca really is a beautiful spot just outside of town.

Another interesting place right here in town is Veterans Park. Its maybe two miles from my home, up on a hill and in a nice forested area (but the camping area is quite open). We go there to walk the dog and hit the trails to hunt for mushrooms. It's a very quiet sleepy little campground and I'd recommend it for anyone passing through, unless you want to holdout for Big Sur and all of the amazing campgrounds in that area.

Sorry I missed you Jeff - I've been away diving for a couple of days. Would like to have stopped by to check out your 17B. I am pretty set on a 15B, but know just seeing any Escape would probably speed up my decision to take the leap!

Hope you enjoyed/ enjoy the rest of your time in our pretty little neck of the woods.

I forgot to mention the firing range.. you can hear from the other loop.. we stayed in C loop and you didn't know it was there.. walking the dogs up to the group level loop it was apparent. You can see the range from the left side of the loop & hear it!..

Next time I'll check out Veterans Park..

As for checking out the 17B.. alas we sold it along time ago.. we no longer have an Escape and have turned to the "dark side" a 24 ft Itasca RV.. but I have an affinity for the Escape trailers, the people who camp in them and the owners, Tammy & Reace. Great people and a great product!

This area sounds like Fort Ord . . . .
