Jeff, Chris and Cherie, thank you for putting up this show. It was great for me to hear from fulltimers, how life on road works! It is funny, many fiberglass owners started out with a T@B, either as an idea (I was that way) or as the first trailer owned. The Oliver is really nice though. I hope that Oliver starts soon building the nice trailers again, would be a shame if they would not do it!

If Oliver does restart trailer production, they have to have slide-outs ( at least three ) and a 54" flat screen TV. Don't forget the sofa and a tub with a walk-in entry.

Oliver has looked at the market and bailed ou. Most of us are getting older and frail ( me included ). But, the buyers have the money ( not me ) for the comforts of home and bigger is better for that market.

I just don't know why they buy a trailer, and what they are trying to escape.

Baglo, I hear you there. I encountered during my travel up to Milton Ontario a ton of the large stickie 5th wheelers and trailers, but only a total of 4 fiberglass trailers (5 including Cafe Egg) and 2 regular stickies at moderate size. I guess the market is up for more of those large trailers if any.

Re: Next Meet the Escapee Show with Technomadia - Wed, July 21st @ 7:00PM

I had seriously looked at the Oliver. There is no doubt it is very well built, and has lots of quality features built in. I still was taken back at the price when they told me how much it would cost. While I really like the double wall construction, I am not real keen on the white fiberglass interiors, it looks a bit institutional. I do think that their is a niche market for the Oliver, there are lots of people with the money to buy them who don't want the hassle of towing a larger vehicle.

I have to disagree with you Jim. I know many retirees who would subscribe to a service that would go camping for them . . . and cut their lawn.

Hehe, and many people I know of are quite active snowbirders going away for several months at one time, just to avoid the winter here. A friend of mine does that, and they drive one of those large Diesel pushers. They always get family visits from family members living out West when camping in Arizona.

I have to agree with you Glenn.
Lots of retirees would do just that, in fact way more than would by an RV like the Oliver.
I am just saying that there would definitely be a market for an RV built like the Oliver. Just look at how many have bought the small Airstreams over the years.

Hmmm.. what browser are you using ( and version #, usually find it under the "help" tab of the browser) and does it ask you to upgrade or install a new plugin.. something is amiss..

It's really hard not to feel "smug" as you pass those mobile Living Rooms on the road! You know they're envious : - )

For a couple of old croaks who have had many years with a few Trilliums this is a very amusing thread . Our last one ( an 04 now sold ) was named "Bumper Sticker " because we were so often parked between " 2 storey " 5th wheels and things like a " Diamond Coach " something or other .......... ( we actually did feel smug )
