We got the first production pictures of our 2017 5.0TA today. Couldn't be more excited. Can't wait for more pictures. So glad we decided to wait for the 2017.

Donna, maybe give some advice how to post pics? I know I had a hard time figuring out how to.

Are the two hatches under the front nose the standard configuration? Has this changed from the 2016 model? Is there a shelf between the two compartments? The propane tanks are in the bottom and the top is open for storage, correct?

Thank much.

Thomas, this is exactly what they had before. You are right on the configuration too. Propane has to be in its own compartment, sealed from the rest of the trailer.

This lends to one thing I personally like about the 5.0 over the other models that gives it a cleaner look, is there are no bottles and storage box detracting from the look, though the other models still look fantastic in their own right. I might just be a little biased though.

My name is Jim, and I am getting very excited.

Don't get me wrong this new mold looks fantastic and I would buy one, but for some reason I miss the lower ridge in the mold along the sides and the curved door.

I think it just takes time. I know at first I missed it too, but now I am loving the look of the new models. New or Classic, they are all great trailers.

If we were upgrading really like the look of the fifth wheel . It doesn't look so boxy ,( sorry ),like the others 19 and 21 . Just can't get use to their look when it hits my eyes . I would really miss the Classic look and our airplane door . But the fifth wheel really looks nice and we could go for it with a Fiamma awning . But we are loving the one we are with . Pat

Is the isle wider? I recall seeing a classic 5.0TA and the bathroom was out into the isle more than the rest of the cabinetry. On this model it all seems to be flush. Curious of isle width classic vs new? Thanks!

Love the clean look, I think we would enjoy a road trip back to the PNW!

As with the other models, the vertical side walls make the trailer about 4 inches wider at floor level, although the overall width (at the seam) hasn't changed. Perhaps this allowed them to maintain floor space in the bathroom without projecting into the aisle beyond the cabinets; Jim might be able to clarify.

Here's an old (probably 2014) photo from the Escape website for comparison:

Although it's hard to see the feature under discussion from this angle, I don't see much difference.

There isn't an exact precedent for this feature in the other new-style models, because the bathroom location is different from the 21' and the body width is different from the other side-bathroom models.

Couldn't agree more. Very excited for everyone that have been patiently waiting and will be getting their new trailers in 2017. It's going to be a great year.

I never paid close attention to that detail, but pretty sure it is the same with the new model, that the bath is a bit wider than the adjoining cabinets. Whether exactly the same I can't be certain, but imagine it is quite close. Photos can be deceiving.

All that happened dimensionally is that the top and bottom corners got squared a bit, so size wise for the bath, this would mean a bit more foot and headroom, as the middle at the belly bad did not change in width at all.

My only question of the new vs the old vs the other 2nd generation models, it seem on the 21 and 19 the awning is more recessed as it is mounted along the top roof line whereas the 5.0 has it attached to the side wall? Is there any indentation behind the awning, similar to the other 2nd generation models?

The awning is surface mounted. Recessing it was never even considered for the 5.0, because the roof line is sloped, and the awning needs to be level. Recessing it would create a large bulge on the inside, whereas with the bumper pulls it is more easily hidden in the top of the cabinets.

It would have been a nice feature from the outside, just not feasible from an inside point of view.

BTW, this is a 12' wide awning, with an 8' extension.

So it has the same 19' awning model, thanks for the clarification. I assumed since the 5.0 and the 21 were similar inside cabinetry wise from the door rearward there would be a recess. You will love the new awning, it is really sweet and right now it is protected from the elements with that exterior case.

Wow! She's a beauty. I'm so thrilled to finally see her. Christmas came early! Now all I have to do is wait for 9 more months for my baby.

How are Reece, Tammy and ETI staff better than Santa Claus? Santa only delivers once a year, but ETI delivers year round. Thanks ETI and Merry Christmas to all. -- JR
