Doug, you're right, can't put a queen bed up front in the 19'. Probably no way to do it. I don't suppose the door can be moved at all. Dinette is 44". You mean you don't want to open the door and crawl over the bed? (I am sure that some are so interested in a front bed that they would. I won't mention any names.)

If you are thinking of the 19' though, as many of us have said, it's the perfect layout. So you need look no further! Yes, I can see what some are talking about with the bed up front but I like what we have just fine. Sometimes I see a great view out of the back when I wake up and other times the best is seen from the front.

I already have the tow vehicle and a 24' trailer, I find it to be more space than I need, and more weight than I want to pull. I don't like the middle bathroom of all the smaller models, that's why this is the first escape I am seriously considering.

The more I see the front bed layout the better I like it. Hummm, thinking perhaps doing away with the 54" width and going for a twin bed. While not a walk around, it sure would help making the bed a lot easier. Only the bottom to tuck in and everything can hang on the sides... like a regular bed. It's nice being a single traveler, options are so much easier to decide .

Wonder if blocks can be fiberglassed on the ceiling for a curtain track in the "bedroom" area....

Hi: Donna D... Sounds feasible but might inhibit resale when necessary to do so!!! Alf

Why do you think so Alf? I wasn't thinking of moving anything... like making the bath wider... just making the bed narrower. I realize the box underneath would need to be twin size, but that's easy enough to make larger if/when the time comes.

Hi: Donna D... Just thinking out loud!!! Not all buyers will be lone wolves. I suppose Reace could make the bed convertible to a larger size, at a later date. He seems able to do most requests. Alf

Donna, I would think that a 21 ft with the twin sized bed at the front would feel very "roomy" and spacious. For a single traveler this would be a nice set up. There is also the rear dinnette to make into a bigger bed if there is a companion for a trip down the road. I would also think it couldn't be very difficult to convert the front twin back into a bigger bed for the resale or life change aspect of it.

One thing Reace did was not use rat fur in his trailers, the Nauga has a nicer finish wipes down very clean. It makes the inside look larger with the light color.

Progress on the 21' plug. Tammy and I went up to Vernon to see the progress and go over the cosmetic changes now that the shape is there. You can see in the photo where the 19' has now been lengthened 4" in the rear, 16" in front of the door and 4" wider. At this stage, the flat window sections need to be altered, fridge and bath vent moved and a nice finish applied to get ready for the top mold.

Will keep you posted.

How exciting!
It's like reliving the birth of the 19' all over again.

How about an option for a pair of full chairs, maybe recliners, and a smaller table; instead of the dinette? The older I get, the more my back needs catering to... Like the front bed.

It would be great to have the option of a fold down table and a couple of chairs instead of the dinette that makes into a bed. Us older folks with no extra passengers along would really like that. But I guess everyone has their "special wishes". We are watching the development of the 21 with anticipation as the years get closer to our turn to escape.

I think that you will find that the integrity of the fiberglass body relies on bracing of some interior components ( such as the benches that make up the dinette) and therefore some items can't be eliminated. This is what Reace told me when I mentioned putting in swivel chairs in my 5.0.

I'd also like to see a recliner instead of the dinette. I wonder if it would be possible to have the recliner in one corner (kitchen side) and a table/desk (refrigerator side)?

I like the idea of a recliner and desk combo, but what about eating inside?
