Doesn't matter how long their legs are. If they are sitting, the critical measurement is from their bum to their eyes.

Like gbaglo said. Some people have relatively long legs, some relatively long torsos. See: How to Tell if I Have a Long or Short Torso | eHow

OK, I understand now, her upper torso is 5" shorter than his and her lower torso is also 5" shorter.

Yup. And that's the bottom line.

LOL Jim, some is in the legs and some in the top. Works for is. :-)

Escape has it figured out unless you are an extreme case.

And, as usual, a lot comes down to personal preference. When I'm sitting at the dinette, my eyes are well above the level of the bottom of the window. But, I prefer to view if I'm sitting a few inches higher still.

Cheryl, you will have to excuse the manners of this forum.
Talking about people's torso measurements when we are all in the same room ....tsk tsk tsk!

We are adding a 3 to 4 inch rise to the front dinette floor to eliminate the problem of window height. It's a $300.00 option on a new 19. On the other hand, Reace will increase the height of the seat 2" at no charge. We are thinking maybe floor 2 inches up and seat 2 inches or some combination like that. We like to see out of the windows while we are eating inside. Watch the other rigs passing and the neighbor's activities.

It would be good to know the distance from the bench seat cushion to the bottom of the overhead cabinet in order to make a final choice. Anyone have this measurement? Much appreciated. Any one have experience with raising the dinette floor?
