Doesn't matter how long their legs are. If they are sitting, the critical measurement is from their bum to their eyes.

OK, I understand now, her upper torso is 5" shorter than his and her lower torso is also 5" shorter.

And, as usual, a lot comes down to personal preference. When I'm sitting at the dinette, my eyes are well above the level of the bottom of the window. But, I prefer to view if I'm sitting a few inches higher still.

We are adding a 3 to 4 inch rise to the front dinette floor to eliminate the problem of window height. It's a $300.00 option on a new 19. On the other hand, Reace will increase the height of the seat 2" at no charge. We are thinking maybe floor 2 inches up and seat 2 inches or some combination like that. We like to see out of the windows while we are eating inside. Watch the other rigs passing and the neighbor's activities.

It would be good to know the distance from the bench seat cushion to the bottom of the overhead cabinet in order to make a final choice. Anyone have this measurement? Much appreciated. Any one have experience with raising the dinette floor?

2013 Escape 19
The distance between the top of bench seat cushion and the bottom of the overhead cabinet is 43".
The distance between the top of the bench seat cushion and the bottom of the windows is 26".
The beloved wife is 5'4" tall and does not feel that she has a problem looking out the windows.

I don't have measurements for you, only our experience. Neither my wife, my kids, or I have any issues looking out the windows while sitting in the front dinette and would never have considered spending $300 to sit higher up.

If you can not lower the river, you raise the bridge!!
I had Reace make my cushions 2" thicker in my 19' dinette, makes the dinette smaller by 4" all around. Would not do it again as I could see out front easily. Raising the floor seems awkward, creating a built in tripper.

Both wife and I are 5"5" and have not had any problem seeing out of our front dinette.

We have never had an issue seeing out the windows either. I know the concern was raised before, but both my wife 5'-5", and me 5'-12", checked and are fine with the way it is.

If we were to sit higher it would be a pain to gaze at the trees and sky.

i checked this out in Chilliwack and it seemed fine. But I'm 5'8" and Terry's taller.

You need to factor in the ET ratio. That's the eye to tuchus distance. If you can sit in the dinette and see the ground you are okay but if all you can see is the sky and the trees, your ET ratio is too low and you need to raise your seat. Here's the formula we use ETx3r∑π/i. That give you the correct distance from seat to proper viewing angle.
