Escape 5.0 TA trade ins…...
In an attempt to spur interest and create a market, ETI has contacted several new Escape 21 owners with the offer of upgrading their Escape 21 to a new Escape 5.0 TA model.
Being here on the far reaches of the East Coast, far away from ETI, I was selected to participate since I have the only 21 on the East Coast. Similar special pricing is being offered on the new model as was done for the Escape 21. Looks like there will be a wave of 21' sales as people make the switch. I'll be posting mine for sale later this day. Win, win for ETI, new customers for the 21' as well as the 5.0 TA. Watch out Donna…..

Have to admit. I fell for it.
Since it's Jim, it is believable.

Your the only person for whom this April Fools joke is believable, Jim!

I know. I am out of the pool already. I had picked him ordering the 5.0 TA by the end of March.

Snort!
IF, ETI built the 5er layout as a total bumper pull... bet there would be even MORE buyers. Even some of those 21' folks would be eyeballing a queen size, front-to-back bed.

Any idea what the length of that "bumper pull" 5er would be, Donna?

I even asked Reace about this. About 25' or so if I remember his comments. Figure it out... it flattens out, no nose to hang over a truck bed. Even Bigfoot didn't build that floor plan. Might require a couple of axles.. spread apart . If anyone was to build that "floor plan" it would be Oliver or Bigfoot. I'm expecting the next big thing from Escape to be an all molded toy hauler
Remember... you heard it from me first

Not all molded. Aluminum.
Last I saw.

Shhhhhh. Those of us "in-the-know" know, Reace and Tammy have a toy hauler already. But, we also know they camp.. for days.. in every single ETI build model. They need to know, the build is good for consumers. And for that, I'm grateful.
I'm still expecting an ETI all molded toy hauler some day...

What I have been trying to figure out is when they have the time to take the ATV out, given they have no days off.

This was an April Fools post, but the idea of ETI showing their units at a rv show is a great one. I think it would be a wise business move to have some new ETI models put on a trailer and go to the 2-3 big shows one year. Kentucky and Hershey come to mind. What do you think?

They are already 9-10 months behind in production compared to orders, so it might depend on if they want to expand capacity.

You had me Jim. Brenda and I are thinking we may change our order. Giving up our July 21' production date to take a 5.0TA in 2015. We keep going back to it. ETI is giving me a couple weeks to decide before I have to turn in the 21 build sheet. We are watching the production of the 5'er closely and one of us may travel out to see them side by side. The 5'er layout is perfect for us and mom and I really like the 5th wheel hitch.

Shows are commonly run by RV dealer associations. Since ETI doesn't sell through dealers, it would be difficult to get into these shows.
The Pennsylvania Recreation Vehicle & Camping Association (PRVCA) runs the big Hershey show and includes manufacturers - not just dealers - but membership could be expensive. I can understand a small manufacturer staying out of this whole side of RV marketing.

What's the best advertising/marketing? ETI and Oliver are the only two manufacturers that consistently showup at egg gatherings. There's nothing more valuable than a good word of mouth reputation. I know there are plenty of disappointed people in Texas right now because they had hoped Reace and Tammy were going to be able to make the Bluebonnet with the new 5er.
Instead, they're coming to the Oregon Gathering in July.
These are people who use their own products. I wonder how many big sticky manufacturers can say the same thing?
