It will be interesting to see what the difference is - and it will depend on options chosen, of course. But when we bought our 2013 5.0, Tammy and I figured that the weight differential between it and our 2008 5.0 would be about 300lbs based on the new, larger fridge and solar and extra insulation etc etc. So that would put the 5.0TA at close to 800lbs more than the 2008 5.0. And that's the overall weight, not necessarily the pin weight.

Having said that, if Reace says it will work with a Frontier, my guess is it will work!

Alf, did they say if the one in the photo is raised for full size trucks or the lower version for mid size?

Me too, one just has to use a 1/2 ton or smaller pickup.

Hi: padlin... The windowless trailer in the spy photo was actually our "Escape Hatch II". Here's a more completed pic.

Keep in mind, this unit was raised for a taller truck!

I turned the trailer almost 90 degrees, and still have approximately 1" space before the trailer would hit the cab of the truck.

Also a photo hitched up with tailgate down.

I love it when a plan comes together!

Reace
thank you, that gives me great relief

What hitch do you use. I have 2013 F-150 Super Crew FX-4 with 5'6" bed and was wondering wat was your recommendation in terms of hitch placement and make.

Hi: TomL... Here's a pic of our 5.0TA hooked up and ready for our 1st. tow from the factory. Husky EZRoller 16K hitch was used in our GMC Sierra and transferred to the Nissan Fronty 4X4, cargo cap. 1100#s. We again transferred the hitch to the Ram EcoDiesel 4X4, cargo cap 985#s but with new rails on the box floor. Alf

Hi: TomL... The Nissan was 6'1" and the Ram is 5'7". Both trucks are able to back into the pin with the tailgate down if the alignment is straight.
Having a good RVTech to R&R the hitch is vital. He knows what he's doing. In the case of the Ram there's precious little room for error. Once I saw Reace's F150 with a 5'5" bed towing a 5.0TA I was sure the Ram would work. Alf
