Escape 5.0 TA Update #4

Not too much change on the inside yet as it is primarily plumbing, electrical, propane systems being installed. Counters are in but they are covered up so you can't see them

I thought an outside photo would be cool to see since it is in a spot that I can get far enough back to get a photo.

(Keep in mind, this is the high rise unit)

Okay, Donna - enough suspense! Time to tell the world! What's your new 4x4 tug for your soon-to-hatch Escape 5.0? Dale

Well, it's a 2014 Ford F-150, white, 3.5L V6 w/ ecoboost, 6.5 box. Oooooh, shiny! I'll post a pic or two on Wednesday. The sun is "supposed" to be shining. It's really wet here in PDX right now.

Almost finished, just waiting for the hoist to free up to tie things up on the bottom.

I did run it over the scale...3700 lbs. 3100 lbs on axles, 600 lbs hitch.

This unit has almost every available option on it, except the spray foam. It will be applied soon. This weight includes dual 6V batteries and a full h/w tank, no propane.

Sweet. If I had a bigger truck I'd buy one!

For comparison, the ETI website spec for the base, dry classic 5.0 is 2620 lbs: 2140 lbs on the axle, and 480 lbs on the hitch. That's roughly 41% heavier; it is wider, taller, and tandem-axle.... and all those options (and 50 pounds of water) would make up a significant part of the increase. Also, the increase is proportionately more on the axles than the hitch (perhaps only due to the location of the options), so the pin weight fraction drops from 18% to 16%; this is easier on the truck capacity than the overall weight increase would otherwise indicate.

I notice a radio antenna above the awning? Is this an option or something new?
