Escape Exterior Storage Box

Hi Everyone,

Well Reace finall has the first part for the Exterior Storage Box he has been working on. As you can see from the photos below the box does not yet have a lid and it is not mounted on the trailer.

We just thought you might enjoy an opportunity to get an early idea for what the finished product might look like.

Re: Escape Exterior Storage Box

Looks really nice! I totally can see this as perfect storage space for any sorts of mats, tarps, wheel chocks etc. All the bulky but not too heavy stuff... Nice!!!

That looks great! Would a single propane tank fit in it?

Re: Escape Exterior Storage Box

It sure looks nice. I'd love to keep my leveling blocks, wheel chocks, hitch wheel, stabilizer jack handle, equalizer lever, fresh water hose and hitch grease in a compartment like that. The worry is that I would be tempted to overload.

So, might this be a retrofit?

Also, I would pay for a propane tank cover that matches the trailer in colour and style, Reace.

Ron

Your request for a propane tank that matched in color and style is agreeded upon with me. I had considered painting it to match, not sure I could come close. Reace here is another request.

Re: Escape Exterior Storage Box

Reace did it again Front Storage Boxes for 19ft and now 17ft. The box on my trailer is so handy for all that trailer stuff, it is a nice option.

Re: Escape Exterior Storage Box

I have some photos of the front storage box on an Escape 17 at http://www.lakeshoreimages.com/2011trip009.html. If you are planning on a power jack, check with Reace first - it is a very tight fit...

Re: Escape Exterior Storage Box

Anyone know what the 17 storage box weighs empty? I could not find the info on the escape website, what it adds to the front weight. Thanks.

Re: Escape Exterior Storage Box

I would guess a empty front 17 box would be 35 to 45 pounds. You should call the factory and ask them.

Re: Escape Exterior Storage Box

I'm not going to purchase very soon, so no need to call and bother them since we have this nice forum just sitting here. Thanks for the reply.
