IT ETI can get T rated 8 series Dometics - I would make the same comments as for the Atwood.

Dometic really should step up to the plate and replace the existing units - or at least the cooling part - with T rated parts.

No need to call. As of now they cannot. (If they could Reace would have already posted it here. Let him continue to go above and beyond the call of duty for us.) I am (sort of) content to wait for his proposed resolution.

If ETI is soon to be selling it's 1000th trailer, do you think Dometic should step up and replace 1000 refer units? I don't see that happening.

Only the 8 series - I believe the older ones were fine.

Do I think they should - yes.

Do I think they will - probably not.

And sell your inadequate Dometic on EBay, no problem. Figure it'll get a hundred dollar bid, minimum.

In the words of the immortal P.T. Barnum..... etc.

I emailed him today and from his reply below he's still on it. Am personally satisfied after talking with RV Service Centers that it is splitting hairs most likely to go to another unit. A previous helium unit was pulled back off the market was what one tech told me. Didn't work well in hot weather.

I have just spoken to Dometic and they are still waiting for more information on the T rated fridges. One problem that has come up is the T rated fridges will not cool when the ambient temperature drops too low. They are still looking in to this. I looked at the Atwood fridge when it first came out a few years ago…unfortunately it will not fit through the door. Along with most fridges.

Reace

As has been said before, we all just need to wait and see here. We as a group are extremely fortunate to have Reace trying his best to resolve this. I am anxious as well, our completion date in November is fast approaching too, but to have the support effort that Reace has put into this is almost un heard of in this day and age. The reponse posted above is indication that the wheels are in motion.

Ours is the 6.7 that every one is having issue with. I would say that ours is adequate. It has seemd a bit better with the updated baffle. At temps above 30 C does struggle and we have to be careful with it.

Dave MacR. (and all) what power setting are you using (1-5 bars on the display)? And are you making ice cubes successfully?

I read you can remove the freezer box/door to make the refrigerator colder, anyone trying that?

In warmer weather 20c/70 f and up we use the 5th bar setting. keeps fridge at the 38-40 f Range freezer keeps stuff frozen but has trouble freezing something as the outside temps get into the higher 20's or closer to 90f. We use propane or 120v. I don't bother with the 12v setting. I know there are those that don't aprove of travelling with the propane running, but we do it.
I have acutally never had a rv fridge that i had to run @ full power to get sufficient cooling before.
