We were just on Cape Cod and ran into a camper that had never seen or heard of Escape. While he was eagerly waiting for us to return he looked up Escape on the web and was amazed at the options offered and by the time we returned had figured out the 5.0 he wanted would be $44,000 Canadian and did the math on the US conversion. Once we returned he had a tour of over two hours talking about why this, why that, and why not that. When he gets home he's going to talk to his wife and then purchase one. I wonder if he had to give all his vital stats would his interest have continued?

We loved going over the options available and did so easily 20-50 times before we purchased. We rarely print. I integrated a paperless school when I was working. To have to download and print out a sheet of options would have been a pain and hindered our purchase. By having to give your vitals just to get an options list will lose 100 purchasers vs perhaps the one you'll gain.

I'm a firm believer in KISS.

The tire cover is butt ugly, about as bland as it gets, with zero points for style. The maple leaf showed creativity. If that boring internet cover was on our camper it would be replaced immediately! Makes me want to see if I can get the old cover before they're all gone.

On another note, the rest of the website looked nice. The old one was a little stale.

Enjoy,

Perry

I'm finding the "automatic" fill in of info by my browser does not work on their website, more tedious to input info. Are there layout sketches of the new models?

David I personally like the new web site. Probably one of the better ones I have visited especially for a company the size of Escape. Can I order the new spare tire cover and how much would it cost?

How much would you like for your old maple leaf one?

I guess I’ll have to take better care of my Escape Maple Leaf tire cover
As far as Escape’s new web site , I have no opinion because I know nothing about web design and frankly I have no interest .
If it was me I would be promoting Escape’s Canadian Heritage .

Generally nice website. But I agree on filling in contact info before being able to build- I would walk away before doing that unless I was ready to order today- and if I were not familiar with the company I'd never become ready to order. (Which I'm not.)

Also, what is the slider thing on the big trailer? I can slide it back and forth but can't see that anything happens. The circle with the arrows appears to be clickable but nothing happens when I click it.

I mentioned on David's post regarding the new website on Facebook that the first Escape Trailer Rally was in 2010, not 2009 as listed. Nice looking site though.

It would seem to me that smart marketing would offer two different tire covers so people could keep their old Escape “all original” and the new tire cover like the old Pepsi slogan “for those who think young”. There’s no doubt a market for custom tire covers either in vinyl or fiberglass that have been available for some time. And a new/old motto on the cover as a play on Packards famous “Ask the man who drives one.” “Escape: ask the family who camps in one.
I can’t get too excited about a tire cover. Had a white one for a couple years on the 19 and then bought a replacement at ETI for $22.00 Canadian. With 15 inches of rain here in the past 30 days I’m thinking an Escape Ark might be a seller we could all use.
Old Karl built himself an Ark
One more river to cross
He built it out of Fiberglass
One more border to cross

Is the extra insulation now standard?

It changes the colour of the strip from green to black.
Now it would be impressive if it changed it from basic to all options.
So sliding windows, no extra windows, manual awning, painted wheels, no air, no front box to a full load with shiny wheels.

Ha, totally missed that. Too bad you can't choose the color to change it to. Or do the build and have all your options appear. But still kind of cool. Just not very obvious what the point is.

A few bugs to work out but otherwise a nice website.
I don’t belong to Facebook, but i think it would be nice if us non-members could view the content. No harm letting folks see how happy we are.
I agree with removing the requirement to register to get info, I never comply with that sort of restriction.

As someone already mentioned, the extra insulation is not listed, in addition there are some errors between spec's and features re: tank capacities. These errors and omissions hopefully will be corrected. In addition the prices shown are in US dollars which will change almost daily. Seems like the old way in Canadian is better since the price is not fixed until signature on build sheet. This can lead to a lot of confusion to US customers with a 4-6 month lag time.

I noticed that the base dry weight of the 19’ is now specified at 3150 lbs. In 2017 when we ordered, the base dry weight was 2950 lbs. Seems to support the idea that some options have become standard.

GVW increased from 5000 to 5500 for the 19 as well if I am not mistaken.
