I would imagine last night was the first night in a month that Reace and Tammy got a decent night's sleep. Congratulations to all!

Our 2017 21' Escape back in the USA

Beautiful trailer, exceptional service. I can't say enough about all that Reace and Tammy did for us. It was not Escape's fault that the US imposed new regulations to record the VIN number on all imported vehicles from Canada, without any notice. Escape went way above board to accommodate customers waiting to cross the international border. This is our second Escape and we love all the new changes. This is one awesome trailer from one awesome company.

Very nice! That's a huge bathroom window! Looking good... Maybe one day I'll see it if/when you ever bring it home to Texas...

welcome back!!!
this camper will eventually go down the same path..so now you are traveling on the Texas 30 day temporary tags (not visible) and then get it inspected prior to registration since Texas is actually enforcing this requirement now for trailers?

I'm really curious (read, nervous) to see how that large unbraced awning holds up against those stiff sea breezes and occasional rain downpours when camping on the gulf coast. Does it come from the manufacturer with a warning to not use if steady winds or gusts exceed some specified speed? And if so, what is the wind speed warning?

there is a thread New 2017 or something like that, where the new awning was discussed at length...perhaps the moderators can post the link or a search will find it....it supposedly has wind/rain sensors to automatically retract it

Most rv awnings have a warning/disclaimer that the awning is not for rain protection, strictly for shade. In addition any winds guts should be avoided. Simple and straight forward.

That's not what the manual for my Carefree Fiesta awning says.

It says, "if wind or extended periods of rain are expected, roll up the awning and secure for travel".
It also says, "If the awning is extended during rain, position one arm at minimum pitch and the other arm at maximum pitch. This will provide slope to allow the water to run off and prevent pooling."

I use mine all the time for rain protection and only retract it if I expect strong wind. The new awnings will retract themselves if they detect strong wind or if rain pools.

I would think common sense would prevail with your awning. We've never left ours out on any of our previous trailers if it's windy. However, this awning is suppose to close if winds pick up. I'm not sure we will test it that way. So far, it has worked like a champ under normal use.

I talked with Dave the delivery driver late yesterday. He was in Wyoming at the time being blown all over the road by the storms. He is a day or two behind where he wanted to be due to the bad weather along with a blowout, but is still chugging along with his deliveries to Texas, then Florida and finally to us in Nashville
