If you really need a longer hose, it probably isn't necessary to custom-build one; if the grill end has a typical connector, you can buy the hose at a hardware store.

This is the connection to the grill (photo ). I figure they can just take the two ends and make a new longer hose.
There is a accessory cart for it, but I don't want it ( and it's $149 ). I've got a cart for the Weber Q and never dragged it along for camping.

That looks like the common 3/8" SAE flare on the end of the hose (just like our Porta Chef grills) so the ready-made hose&regulator sets should be the right fit.
I doubt that end can be re-used. It might be possible to re-use the regulator end, but I wouldn't count on it. Also, it's hard to find anyone to make custom propane hoses - usually a "barbecue" store will only assemble components, so a "custom" hose will be a factory-built hose with male pipe thread or female flare ends, plus adapters screwed onto it.

If you can find someone who builds propane hoses, they usually do it for just the price of the parts (no extra for the building labour). If you only need one end fitting, it would be so cheap that it would hardly be worth the time to get Napolean to pay for it.

This common hose set is the same used on a Porta Chef, so if you have a leftover you could use that... but I just checked and my Porta Chef hose is even shorter, at about 20 inches. It reaches the tank fine, but sits lower on its legs than it would on a picnic table.

The hoses I have in hand are Coleman and don't have the regulator attached.
Anyway, Johnstone's has their own gas-fitters ( they do gas fireplace, heater and bbq installs. Brother in law does the same out in Chilliwack.
Alternative is I bring a chainsaw and cut down the legs on the picnic tables.

Just did a backyard field test of my new Weber baby Q. Had removed the Weber regulator. Replaced there with quick connection to the hose, which then quick connects to my factory supplied regulator. Shrimps now ready for the Barbie!

Thanks. I've found that the hose it came with works OK. Q sits on picnic table and propane bottle on the seat. Just reaches.

portable grill

My Duro NXR 2 burner portable grill works great and the exterior propane hose supplied by ETI plugs right in without any adapters. Used at least 20 times this season and quite happy with it for the $125 it cost. And can do indirect with the 2 burners.

After ten days camping with my new Napoleon Travel Pro, I'm a happy camper. It's rather large for a portable at 285 square inches cooking surface, but it has two burners so I can cook indirect and use smoke. The lid is tall enough to for roasts.
I've now cooked three whole chickens, a small top sirloin roast and baby back ribs twice, with excellent, controllable results. Whole chicken took two hours, fifteen minutes with the left burner on high and the chicken on the left side. Temp inside grill was about 325 F, depending on ambient and winds.
