Awning Fabric Replacement?

OK, time to replace the awning fabric on our 2010 17B. Any particular recommendations or warnings on replacement fabrics or providers? (Would like Oregon Ducks green and yellow, but that is probably too much to expect.)

This link should have all the information you need about replacement options. They do a select number of custom colors including striped but not sure if it meets your needs.

Thanks, Rubicon. I obviously did not convey that I was interested in providers other than Carefree, which was what I intended to do. Poor drafting on my part.

(After I posted it I also realized it probably should have been in a different area of the forum (Product Reviews) and requested a Mod move it. Tried to edit, but cannot change the thread heading after posting. Oops).

I am just shopping for alternate fabrics and designs, as well as prices.

I needed new awning fabric on my 2009 19 and bought it from Escape. I looked for other manufacturers, but other than custom made and expensive I could not find anything that was the perfect size and installed real easy.

If you are set against Carefree fabric which I believe is not too bad of stuff, I would suggest talking to some places that will custom supply something you like more. There are a couple of them around here so you should have to troubles.

Don't know what the price would be but an awning fabric would be very easy for a boat sailmaker or a canvas maker to put together for you. It is basically a rectangle with the proper rubber pieces at each end to slide into the tracks, I don't think the sides are even finished they are just cut with no sewing. The labor should be minimal the cost is in the fabric. If I still had my sailmaking sewing machine I bet I could knock one of these out in an afternoon and if experienced and I had the materials probably a couple of hours.

I know Marti's Awnings are popular with the vintage and egg crowd. Perhaps a call will give you all the answers you seek and the fabric you want Marti's Vintage Trailer Awnings

Marti’s does great work too. She did our vintage Airstream and there are plenty of different fabric prints.

Cool website and great referral. I’ll save the link for the time when my Escape becomes “vintage”. [emoji4]

carefree's fabrics are top quality, like sunbrella or something. i can understand not caring for their available patterns, me, I don' find them too annoying and from the bottom, they all look the same anyways.

These awnings have grommets and are set up with poles/ropes on the outboard side. Stored in a bag when not in use. Will they make something that works with the Carefree awning mechanism?

I thought Dave's replacement awning from Carefree was really nice.

I've never ordered anything from Marti, so can't answer. From my reading, Marti is great to work with, very accommodating. I'm betting she has made the awning to work with other than grommet and pole awnings. "If you only have a quick question — please contact me directly via email."

I received a very quick response to my query. Marti only needed size of the awning, so I sent measurements and make and model #. She seemed quite willing to work with me, and gave no indication my request was unusual at all.

I really like the choices of colors/patterns she has available. Hope the price is reasonable. Will let everyone know.
