The Magma lid handles are knobs that use a single screw to hold them on, so unfortunately these would not work. I did just send of a request to Magma.

We bought Stansport from Amazon and it has thick bottoms for only $48. Very happy with it.

We had a set of MSR nesting cookware and Norma hated the detachable handles. She was never confident enough with them so we replaced it with regular Calphalon pans (the MSR set stayed under one of the dinette benches in our 17). Storage really wasn't an issue for us.
The handles on the Magma set look secure.

Paul, I use an MSR set for canoeing and backpacking, and they are fantastic for that. With the handle grip, though not too bad, one does have to be careful. The Magma ones are very solid.

Our set is the Magma 7 piece, but I was reminded it came from Camping World, not REI. That Stansport set is significantly less than what I paid for the Magma...I'll have to compare them sometime.

Our nesting cookware was purchased originally for canoe camping and looks very similar to this:


The handles seem to work quite well and are very secure. Our kit was purchased from here Med Hard Anodized Cookset - Campers Village and was decently priced. Long term, we will likely purchase a better set such as the Magma pots that Jim got.

Unfortunately there really is no way of cooking on a stove top without having decent weight to the pot though. I know our Magma set, though compact, is not very light at all.

I second the suggestion for a pressure cooker. Cooks faster which uses less fuel, saves time and reduces heat in the trailer. For example, brown rice cooks in 10-12 minutes. They are much more versatile than most people realize. I've even heard of folks baking in one. When you pick a size remember you can't fill it more than two-thirds full, half full for some types of foods. My mom cooked with one every night and they are quick and easy when you are used to them.

I also have an electric skillet that I like when I have an electrical hookup. That way I'm not using propane at all. With a heavy duty outdoor extension cord it can be put on the picnic table and get the heat totally outside.

I have had no luck with backpacking type cookware. It is too thin to have good heat distribution. The heat from an RV stove is too great and I managed to ruin a non-stick one in the spot right over the burner while the food toward the edge of the pot wasn't cooking that fast. Fooled me.

Non-stick coatings are great away from hookups since they can be wiped clean with a paper towel and need very little water for final cleaning.

A good source for tips on equipment, supplies and recipes in a small moving kitchen is theboatgalley.com. Also makes me glad I don't have to cook while the kitchen is in motion.

I know this thread is ancient but someone might refer to it in the future - like me
I have the induction compatible Magma set in stainless and it is very good on both open flame and induction units. Scrubs clean with Bar Keeper's Friend no matter what you do to it.
I added the non-stick "omelette/saute pan" which is not included in the 10 pc set. Its non-stick performance is poor. Their nesting sets are available in non-stick and I'm so glad I didn't buy that version of the complete set! Oddly enough, I've seen enthusiastic reviews for that also - go figure!
On the subject of pressure cookers, take a look at Kuhn Rikon's models. They are the Rolls Royce of pressure cookers. I use mine a lot. Saves a fair bit of fuel, as you turn the burner way down once pressure is achieved. As someone else mentioned, steam produced in the interior (trailer, boat, whatever) is minimized vs conventional methods and time is saved.
