Thanks Jim! So in the 2nd photo, I see a male QC connection for the hose end, and that will work with the hose supplied by Escape. Is the end that hits the control side a 3/8" flare male or female?

Don't knock it, you don't have to use it. It works great for me. Besides, it is only 4 connections.

Yes. Basically, all you have to do is go from that 3/8 male flare to a male QC fitting. I went with what was in stock, but there are simpler ways of getting it done. Had thought about changing fittings out later, but as mentioned, this works, and is not in the way at all when in use, or stored.

OK, there's a local place here that has a pigtail. I'm thinking that's all I need. The guy cautioned me to make sure that the quick connect was compatible with the hose supplied by Escape (high vs low pressure). I'm sure the one Escape supplies is low pressure.
So does this look right?

I think that would do the trick very nicely, Robert. If Escape says the hose in low pressure, I would be it is fine.

There is a difference between low pressure fittings and high pressure fittings internally. A low pressure male fitting will have an opening of @ 1/4-inch, whereas a high pressure male fitting will have a thicker wall and most likely an orifice the size of a pin hole. Ask the sales person if it is a low pressure or high pressure pigtail.
Also, picture is the other hookup I mentioned in a PM.

Did the Escape hose not come with quick connect fittings on both ends?
I see you connect straight to the low pressure control. Do you use a wrench and take it off that way all the time, or just leave it connected?

Yes, Jim's adapter combination could be simplified, but the section attached to the inlet to the control would likely take two adapters with a pipe thread between them using anything that could be found in a catalog, and it looks like there are only three adapters (and thus two pipe thread connections) in this case.
High-pressure and low-pressure fittings should be different, but in this case it should be easy to get the right bits - particularly with Carl's description of the difference - since all quick connect fittings should be low-pressure.

The pigtail is low pressure. As long as the hose supplied by Escape is low pressure it should work, provided there is a QC on the end. If its a flare I would have to connect it to the Spitfire directly, keep it connected, and just keep the hose coiled up with the grill until I get an adapter.

Fittings should be easy to find, if needed. Lots of propane used for heating in BC.

I think you are on the right track, Robert, and will be able to use the grill one way or the other once you pick up your trailer. For me, not having a working grill would be a disaster as we do 80 percent of our cooking with the grill, 10 percent on the stove, and 10 percent in the nuke. The nuke is used when it rains and we can't enjoy the outdoors.

Thanks Carl. "No Nukes" here. We omitted the microwave. We rarely use the one here at home. Makes a working grill even more critical. I plan to experiment with all kinds of cooking on it, and I'm really looking forward to some biscuits or cinnamon rolls baked in it.

Low-pressure quick-connects are a relatively uncommon connection style, compared to POL, QC-1, appliance/needle, high-pressure vapour quick-connect, fast fill, and liquid quick-connect. Still, they shouldn't be hard to find at a suitable supplier... which could be an RV supply store, industrial hardware supplier, hose specialist, or even Barbecue Country (which sells mostly gas grills, for our southern friends ).

I actually had looked at them, as my next grill for home is likely a pellet one. Though there were a few that performed well, two things turned me away from them for camping. The fact that even the portable ones are not that small, making it hard to stow away when not in use, and the fact that when camping, when we get set to cook, most times we want something where we are almost instantly grilling, and the pellet stoves take a while to ramp up.
Something worthy to consider for certain occasions, just not something I wanted in my trailer all the time, like my Spitfire 180.

Most of the time I would be too, but we often find that when gone for the day, and getting back hungry, having an almost immediate response, with eating in 10 minutes is desired.
I wonder how well the small ones sear meat. I know many of the larger units get a knock for that, at least in the reviews I found online.
