Restaurant Review!!!

Hi: All... Stopped in at Flounders Chowder House. Met with friends, while camping on Santa Rosa island in Ft. Pickens Camp Ground. Bumped into a serving of Key Lime Pie. A dessert to die for.
Dueling forks anyone!!! Alf

I hope the aliens are careful if they decide to probe Alf. He is close to Gulf Breeze at that campground.

What are you doing on Santa Rosa Island Alf? How did you ever get the 5.0 over to the island? You folks are a long ways from home!

Hope you had better weather at Fort Pickens than I did! Spent 12/31/17 until 1/7/18 with night time temps as low as 20F! Day time was 30's and 40's. Be sure to see the Naval Air Museum while in the area! One of the best (FREE) tours anywhere!

Eat too many of them and you will. I've seen some mega sized deserts but that takes the cake. Looks like someone just took 3 slices and stacked them up. Hope it tasted as good as it looks.

Looks like Mary Anne is getting a taste in before the full on eating frenzy. Looks great, but man that thing is huge.

Large serving

Hi Alf
That’s quite a serving Alf. I had a piece of carrot cake about like that in Columbus, Ohio
once. About half at the restaurant and a quarter the next two days at lunch.

Hi: frank_a... Actually it was easy to tug over to Santa Rosa. It cost a buck to get on the island via the bridge, and you get off "Scot free". It was 10 bucks a piece for passes to get into Ft. Pickens C.G. for one week. From there we towed off to Natchez Miss. for a north bound trip up the Trace Pkwy. Got back thru Detroit Mich. in time to see the snow after 2 months away. Alf

Glad to hear you got home safely even if to snow. Just checked out Fort Pickens, looks pretty nice, we'll be nearby there Friday heading to Destin. Too bad you had to head home, you missed a great GE&H rally in AL. Are you still planning on the Escape rally?

Hi: cpaharley2008... It was the only high octane on the menu. Actually I had a dirty Martini. I could have made it a three martini lunch... but I was too near the water. From your post... one martini was enough to give me a blank stare. Alf
