Common sign seen on the back of trucks, "If you can not see my mirrors, I can not see you"

[QUOTE=War Eagle;211973... we like traveling with a wireless rear-view camera mounted inside the rear window of our 21'. The camera is powered from a 12V DC outlet under the dinette, and it sends a wireless video signal to a monitor inside our tow vehicle powered by a 12V DC outlet in the dash.[/quote] ...
Great idea! Thank you.

Susan, I've experimented with various methods for mounting our rear-view camera on the back window looking out, and I've attached a photo that shows my current working model. Least cumbersome so far, fast and easy to attach and un-attach. The suction cup mount is an Arkon GN079WD with the extended adjustable arm and 17mm ball. I forget where I picked up the cell phone holder part, but it was cheap. They are out of view, but the dangling cable provides connections for both power in from a nearby 12V DC outlet and video out to the wireless video transmitter.

What camera are you using? Missed it if you already posted.

Tom, We have this TaoTronics camera/monitor combo set.
https://www.amazon.com/taotronics%C3.../dp/b00abshr70
But I think the company may have been bought out, and I didn't find where it's still available under that name. But there are several other similar brands out there. This looks like the same camera by Accele, but I didn't see a wireless transmitter and matching monitor with wireless receiver. They are probably out there.

We use the license plate camera bracket for our EggCamper because it doesn't have a rear window. But for our Escape, I took the camera out of the license plate bracket so I could mount it inside to look out the back window (higher viewing angle and more secure).

Tom, So here's a wireless video transmitter/receiver you could match with the camera above and then your favorite monitor. You can just start piecing things together.

Jon, I've been pleasantly surprised with our set-up. I was all ready to hard-wire a video line from the camera mounted on the spare tire on the back of our 17' EggCamper to the monitor sitting on the dash of or Highlander, but the wireless worked! Then I questioned if the wireless signal could make it from the rear window of our Escape 21' all the way to the dash of our F-150 supercrew with camper shell. But it did! My wife, who monitors the monitor, tells me that the image fades a bit from time to time, so we may be right at its limit, but it works. I have a 25' video & power combo extension cable still in the wrapper and a few cable adapters ready for hard-wiring (or at least getting the camera's transmitter closer to the monitor's receiver) if/when we ever need it in the future.
