Another kind of ripoff!

USA residents pay https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_s...nc%2Caps%2C220

Cdn residents pay https://www.amazon.ca/s/ref=nb_sb_ss...co%2Caps%2C239

Or Canadians buy on Amazon.com, pay the exchange & maybe even duty & brokerage & it's still a fraction.

If you can find that UK RV supplier, remember the Pound has lost 10 per cent recently.

I bought a set of Aero 2, the smaller teardrop Milenco's, less than a year ago, for $98 on Amazon.ca. Currently listed at $340. Brexit be d****ed, that is a real ripoff.

PS the smaller mirrors work just fine for me.

It amazes me - I shipped products by Fedex to a Canadian customer 2600 miles away and the shipping was the same as the parts (no duty or brokerage) and he was upset how much the shipping was to Canada. Not my fault; I get a 10% discount from Fedex!

If they'll ship to Canada - many don't.

No duty makes sense for U.S.-produced items, but no brokerage fee is surprising. Often the shipper quotes a shipping cost without a brokerage fee - because they're not charged it - but the couriers charge it, and hold the item hostage until the recipient pays. FedEx may be the exception; they say
Quote:
Customs clearance is included with every FedEx Express international shipment...
... but that's shipments leaving Canada. Perhaps it's the same from the U.S. to Canada.

That's certainly not true of Purolator or UPS; shipping for every potential purchase across the border needs to be examined for potential extra costs and issues.

With the looming Canada Post strike/lockout I wouldn't count on anything.
I ordered a new butane stove. Originally it was going to ship Canada Post, but then I got an update email that said shipping FedEx with delivery by end of today. It's not here. Now it says pending. As I read the tracking information, it appears that FedEx hasn't even picked it up from the vendor. So far, I've got a label for my $169.
Sellers are bailing on Canada Post. Not sure the others can cope with the extra business.
Good thing I've got a three-burner stove in the trailer.

Shipping UPS, FedEx and the like is going to get wild here in the next few days. Amazon Prime Day is July 12. Unless I get an over-the-top fantastic deal.... I won't order anything. The rest of you should consider not ordering anything online on Tues/Wed. because Amazon will be hogging all the carriers for delivery. This is like Black Friday times 1,000.

I purchased these CIPA 11960 Premium Universal Towing Mirror (Black)
CIPA 11960 Premium Universal from Amazon for my Toyota Tacoma. They seam to be good quality and are easy to install and remove. Have yet to use them for towing but they are recommend on the Tacoma forum.

Found a set of Grand Aero mirrors online at Woody's in Alberta for C$153.

I have a set and am very happy with them.

Now go shopping!

Someone earlier on commented on not needing them with a Highlander. But do the Grand Aeros not fit?

Mirrors were not on the website - I have emailed them. The Grand Aeros don't fit. I currently us the small round wide angle corner mirrors with my aliner and they work great. Maybe that is all I really need.

I'd like to hear more about why the Grand Aeros don't fit. They fit on my RAV4 mirror housings. Never heard of anybody else having this issue. What year Highlander do you have?
Those convex stick-on mirrors are not a substitute for proper mirrors. The law requires you to be able to see well behind the trailer in the adjacent lanes.

This is BC Law, but you'll find similar in all provinces and states.

(4) Where a trailer or semitrailer in a combination of vehicles diminishes the driver's reflected rear view through the rear view mirrors required by subsections (1) to (3), the towing vehicle in the combination of vehicles shall be equipped with 2 mirrors, one affixed to each side of the motor vehicle, and each to provide the driver with an undistorted reflected view of the adjacent lane of the highway from a point on the road surface 11 m ( 36 feet ) behind the driver to a point on the road surface 61 m ( 200 feet ) from the rear of the combination of vehicles.

A great towing mirror alternative, before my fold out truck mirrors, these were the best. Easy to install and come right off, and when you spring for the blind spot attachment, they are amazing.

Grand Aeros on a Highlander

The Grand Aeros fit well on my 2014 Highlander. Even better after Thoer pointed out that I could cut the rods and bring them in a bit closer to my factory mirrors. One of those "duh" moments.

I bought a set of CIPA towing mirrors to replace the strap on ones I had previously. They are a big improvement and I only paid $40 each at CAPIT in Surrey (knocked $10 off without me even asking). I was looking for Aero brand, but these mirrors work great and are a lot less.

CIPA attachment points look like clone of Grand Aero ( picture ).
I had an old pair of Tow-N-See mirrors stored for a couple years in a compartment in the RAV. Got them out to give to a friend and the silver in the mirrors had deteriorated to the point where they couldn't be used. They were cheap, but for a reason.
