I was wondering if anyone had taken the Dalton Highway with their Escape. Sounds like an adventure; I'd really like to know more. I wasn't aware of a 12V mattress warmer, either.

We left Fairbanks on a Saturday to hoping to avoid most of the truck traffic heading to and from the North Slope. Spent the first night at the BLM campground on the hill behind the Arctic Circle sign. Dropped the trailer at the Marion Creek BLM campground south of Wiseman the next day, (which is a very nice campground when the mosquitos are done for the year). Spent the next four days driving and hiking around the area, didn't get further north than Atigun pass. Headed back down to Chena Hot Springs and spent a week hiking, biking and soaking in the rock pool.
On the way back down the Dalton a Semi truck did kick a fair sized rock into the side of trailer taking out a chunk of gelcoat, so Aurora Borealis has a appointment at a local boat yard for a gelcoat repair. Here is the link for the 12 volt mattress pad:

We only use it during early spring or late fall trips. We turn it on 15-20 minutes before heading to bed when cold weather camping, warms the bed up nicely. Scott
