I've carried a 25' drinking water hose in my Scamp for years. I've found it's usually waaaay to long. So, for Ten Forward, I purchased two 10' hoses. I can screw them together if necessary. So far, haven't had to... but it's nice to have options. What I like about the shorter hose, is it's less to clean up if it's been laying in the dirt or mud. Works for me!

Thank You -
The usual white ones are 25', I think, and that has covered us at least 90% of the time. It is those other few times when we have used our second hose.

So, at 22k, you're only home long enough to make those excellent trailer Mod's you keep posting about. Then it's on the road again!

Hey, we are nowhere near what Jon V. Has traveled and some others, but we can say that we have really used our Escape and keep adapting it to make things more comfortable. And yes, after each trip there is a list of mods and tweaks for the next trip. Keeps life interesting.

That would describe our plans as well, starting the last week of Sept. when we pick up our 17. We're going to cruise the Olympic Peninsula, then attend the NOG rally at Ft. Stevens, before we head home.

We have in-laws in Longview, so depending on our final schedule, we may be there, and try to contact you to say hi and thanks for the mods and info on your blog. (if you're actually in town).

Where's Longview?

Edit: "Where's Longview?" is actually a really obscure quote from an old long distance telephone commercial in Alberta, and refers to "Longview, Alberta", which is one of the many beautiful places in the Province.

Dave,
I was, of course, referring to Techfan's location. But Longview, AB is indeed beautiful. I had to look up where it was, then I realized that I passed through there in 1975, going from Jasper NP to Browning, MT. (Probably have a photo in a shoe box, somewhere).

I like the blue hose also--except in cold weather. I need to coil it into about 18" diameter to fit its space. When it is cold and stiff, I am fortunate to get 2 feet and toss it in the back of the truck.

We will be happy to visit IF we are there. Right now that looks like our Colorado trip. It should add about another 3,000 miles to our total and tick 4 more national parks off our list. Stay in touch, however. Also, I have lived in Longview since 1970 and worked in the public schools. I might know your in-laws. Send me a pm so we don't discuss them on public.

Yes, that is a problem with it that we have also found.

In the cold weather you will need a rubber hose, more flexible and heated.

"Cold" is a relative term... the heated hoses typically won't turn on any heat until it is close to freezing, so a few degrees above that you just have an unheated hose made stiffer by the heating wire.

Rubber hose can certainly be more flexible at low temperature than vinyl hose, but it's hard to find rubber hose rated for potable water use; most are intended for hot water, or heavy-duty contractor use, and are definitely not for potable water. Those heated hoses may be the way to go just because they are intended for RV use and thus potable water.

Apex no kink . The one made for fresh water only RV . Used them for years and years . Just bought new hoses for almost new trailer however the old ones from previous camper for 12 years still didn't leak and am using them for other uses. Pat

No one has mentioned these hoses .... the ones advertised on TV that start out as a small hand full ball and grow (I think ) as water pressure increases to perhaps 50 feet. Seems like an ideal hose for RV or boat. The hose feels like its made from some sort of material..... about $20.00

I have never owned one so don't know what they are like or if they leave a taste to the water.

I'm sure someone here has done extensive testing .... right?

in addition not sure they are for potable water, they may be as bad as drinking out of the spigot or lawn hose I used to do as a kid...

Water hoses

We bought a pair of the new updated black stretch hoses with metal ends, they lasted about a month, Nancy really liked them for the yard, but not to buy every month.
