Album pix view hassle

Why is it when you open a members' album, half the screen is showing the over-sized Escape Forum Banner and ads?

The selected album picture is at the bottom, cut off, because of the Banner Hog! When you are scrolling from one picture to the next, to see the whole image you must first drag the elevator button down. This irritating extra step must be done for each succeeding album image. This certainly takes away from the enjoyment of the album.

How about a fix??

Sure, but I think a better idea is to reduce/redesign/consolidate the height of the Escape Forum Banner logo and thereby free up at least an inch of screen space for forum content. No reason to hog (waste) the top of the screen with the current design.

I agree with Myron on this. It's not ads, it's the header that's too big. I don't know why that should be so annoying but I find it to be so, too...must be a first-world problem.

Agreed. Shouldn't have to scroll the page to view the full image.

Well this is bizarre. For some reason the forum forgot who I was and failed to log me in automatically. However before I noticed that I did notice that virtually every post contained an advertisement. eg. Myron is flogging a 2015 Nissan Rogue in this thread. As soon as I logged in the ads disappeared.

Same thing happened to me. If I do a Windows clean up of cookies, history, etc all my auto log-ins vanish and each posting gets a separate Ad. Wonder if big banners and Ads are more important than addressing the issues I originally posted this topic on.

Someone has to pay for keeping the forum up and running.

The ads, sure. You're saying the Escape logo/banners and tabs must stay big and hoggish because they pay for keeping the forum running?

No, I'm not saying anything about the banner. I have already forwarded concerns about the size of it to Admin. I was responding to your concern about ads.

It seems to me there is more than enough screen space for keeping all the ads, and the banner/tabs, and eliminate the annoying need to scroll to see album pictures, if the design is better composed/organized.

Of course the ads are important, in particular that one that keeps trying to fool me into opening a waiting important message.

I think weshould know who the "admin" is ..... after all it isour comments and info offerings who provide a 'saleable' product for the admin. Canwe collectively sit in on a budget meeting?
