Membership Status

On the old site below the member name there was a "membership status" title of some kind that seemed to indicate number of posts in a text-wise fashion (i.e. newbie, superstar, knows a lot, knows it all, etc.). This does not appear to be the case with the new forum. Is this something that you are going to implement on the new site, and if so, what are the designations and number of forum posts required to achieve each?

cheers
dave

Currently members titles are the defaults set in the forum software. We'll get the titles updated asap.

Pretty sure my title was Almighty Supreme Member. I must have been downgraded with the changes.

Senior Member makes me sound old.

Yeah, I can't really come up with much of a defense to oppose that.

You do have to be a little crazy, to stay sane in this world.

How about some input?

This is the tentative plan but maybe there better ideas out there. Remember - these will display under members usernames in the avatar block next to each post and are based on post count...

Seeking Escape | 0 posts
Ready to Escape | 5 posts
Escaping Ordinary | 50 posts
Escapist | 100 posts
Great Eggscaper | 250 posts
Escape Artiste | 500 posts
Escape Master | 1000 posts

As a comparison the software default is New member, Member and Senior Member.

Post up if you have ideas - the site team will sift through them and make a final decision.

I guess that I have never seen the purpose or need for such categories. I know of some people who have not posted at all lately or only once in a while but they know more than many of those posting. They posted in the past but they just don't post constantly.

What most want to know when someone posts, that we do often need, is which model Escape they have or want and the year, maybe which tow vehicle, location or at least which country or section of the country (which indicates climate.) If we could get people to give this basic info, that is often necessary to answer them.

Of course, if anyone does not want to give such information, no problem. Many times though, I think it is inadvertently left off because they do not realize that their concern cannot be addressed without it.

Cathy, it is just a fun thing, having the different titles. There really is no meaning in it. One forum I peruse has a "Title Fairy", and some peoples titles are extracts from things they have said. Better than the boring "xxxxxx Member" titles.

Okay, Supreme Almighty Fairy Superior!

But I do not aspire to be an Escape Artiste (with an "e"?)--- we have one already --- or Great Eggscaper! Escaping Ordinary? Maybe some egg fairies will have suggestions. Where are the egg fairies when you need them.

Left out:
Deviled! And Scrambled!

Should have asked for the Escape fairies

I was rather fond of my newbie status. I could readily display my ignorance without getting much more than an eye roll ...much better than a chorus of hoots and hollers!
