There certainly is no harm is having a Joke type section.

Except that as a moderator, I would have to read it.
Maybe we could also have a chain-letter section?

... and perhaps move posts from other sub-forums to the new one. Sounds like more trouble than it's worth to me, but I'm not the one who would do the work.

First, one would have to determine if the post was a joke.
And then, I presume, determine if it was funny.

Isn't that what we do anyway? Some humor is thinly veiled, others are not.

Why would you have to read it?

What the heck is a chain letter? Must be like the joke about the ceiling, it is over my head.

What? Now the sub-forum is for jokes, but only funny jokes. A "funny joke" sub-forum is way more limiting than a "joke" sub-forum. But, if all the jokes were funny it'd be a better read.

But seriously folks. The jokes or quips I've seen here are at least loosly related to the thread they show up in. Thus a pleasant surprise when reading those threads. Putting them in a separate sub-forum would take them out of context and greatly lower the amusement for me. For unrelated jokes there is the Internet. I Googled "jokes" and found "about 260,000,000" hits in only 0.60 seconds.

I just Googled "offensive jokes" and got 9,450,000 hits in .26 sec.

Speaking Canadian

Picking up on two themes in this thread--speaking Canadian, and humour--here's one of a series of "Canadian immersion" tutorials on "Great White North" by the iconic Bob and Doug Mackenzie:
