New subform section

We need a new subform section, called Jokes and other fables, similar to over on Fiberglass RV.Jokes, Stories & Tall Tales - Fiberglass RV
Maybe if we all got a good laugh there, we could keep out threads on track? Any input would be appreciated...

I don't think anybody has posted a joke, as such. Taken out of context, some posts don't make any sense. Heck, some don't make any sense in context.
Hopefully, we will veer out of the ditch and back on the straight and narrow.

Do you think that'll do the trick?

I don't know sounds kinda sketchy to me. I hope we aren't getting all serious on this forum, might not be half as much fun if the topic police get involved to much.

Cheers Doug

I would second that. While I like FGRV, and this is my perception, some of the membership there exhibit a touch more animosity than the members of this forum. I realize many here are also registered there, but somehow I find when members here disagree, the exchanges are a bit more civil than there. So I would hate to see the threads on this forum become rigid and loose the humor members feel free to interject. Just my opinion.

Hi: cpaharley2008... I don't think that will do the trick!!! There's just too much fun derailing threads with the odd spot of carpet cleaning know how.
There's enough very serious players here to redirect the speeding locomotives!!! Alf

Will there be a food truck serving poutine there?

I agree with your observations. Part of it has to do with FGRV having a much larger membership, thus a higher likelihood of disagreements. It really all generates from a small handful of members there. Another thing with the membership here that we all have in common, is that we are all Escape trailer owners (or wannabe's), something off the bat that brings us closer. Regardless, FGRV is still a great site, and generally more friendly than most other forums out there. The site team behind the scenes, just as the one here, are great folks who just want to keep things rolling smoothly, with all members learning and enjoying.

BTW, Escape Trailers is a Canadian company, and I expect you to use humour in your posts, not that misspelled humor crap. :

Getting sidetracked is a common thing in life. How many conversations have you had on a serious topic, whether at the kitchen table or sitting around the campfire, that did not get sidetracked at some point. It is human nature, and just so long as it is kept friendly, there is not much harm.

From a site perspective, the sidetracked subjects that do need to be moved to their own thread, are when the topic changes drastically with a serious topic worthy of discussion, and is not following the initial intent of the thread. If this type of discussion is moved to its own thread, it is much easier for others to search and find information pertaining to their search some time into the future.

You mean "loonies" refers to the payment paid to Escape, rather than the folks that post here?

On one hand it would be nice to have a reference section or a how-to section that is more strictly enforced. On the other hand it is nice for the community to respond individually to repetitive questions which we are doing now – makes more of a homey form.

If we were good at conforming to (thread) discipline, we probably would never have sought out and found Escape trailers! Jim, your attempts keeping us on track is sort of like herding cats. But, all the side tracking sure lead to a lot of good natured fun around here. If you want to hand out demerits for thread sidetracking I know I will be near the head of that line!

Alf's signature line is especially good to keep in mind.

I think we should have a "special" jokes section. No one says you have to read it if you don't want to... but, where else can you share stuff like this... OMG, my eyes are leaking :
