I've always been concerned when I've been on it (in GoogleMaps) that I'll move something. When I've done that accidentally, the software asks me if I want to save it. No. I've always wondered if some malicious ne'er-do-well or even an innocent could mess up the entire map either on purpose or accidentally.

I recovered it and imported it to the new Google Maps format. I sent the link to Jim.

And yes, Karen, it can easily be messed up, either on purpose or accidentally. I'm going to save the data occasionally so if it does get messed up I can restore it.

Is this map only for owners who bought new? I don't see our 17B(2nd owner) and am aware of a 19 nearby that isn't on the map either.

It's up to the owner as to whether or not they want to post their location on the map.

That map could certainly be populated with a whole schwack more owners. For starters, there are 4 listed in Calgary, and I know there are WAY more than that. I wonder about getting Escape on board to encourage it. It might be a good resource for them to quickly look for owners to show.

Is a "schwack" more than or less than a "boatload"? These technical terms can be confusing...

I'm quite certain it's less than a boatload thingy.

"Boatload" is finite, wherein "schwack" is not.

The map works for me: there's a checkbox beside the map name - check it and the content appears. This could be a browser issue - I use Google Chrome for this stuff, but I just checked in Internet Explorer 8 (don't laugh - that's what's on this machine) and I get only the black-background menu bar of the Maps site.

It works - with significant quirks regarding the legend size, which obscures most of the map in most cases - on my Android tablet in Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and the Browser. In Opera Mini it displays, but is unusable.

I see just a map of North America with no owners. Don't see any box to check either. Tried enlarging map. Still nothing.

I think the problem is that the link in the Owners Map tab at the top of the page is still the old link (and for some reason no longer works). Looks like Jim has reported the issue to the site administrators, so until that gets fixed you'll have to use the link in this thread to access the map.

I guess Google wants everyone to use the new Google maps, because I had to import the old map data into the new maps site before I could see that it was all still there.
