Okay so maybe I am more technologically challenged than I thought! I have received a couple of private messages in the last few months and replied to them. But, when I click on "sent messages" I get nada. Like I've sent nothing even though I've clicked "submit" sometimes more than once.
Am I doing something wrong?
thanks!
Christine

Assuming that you have checked the box to save "sent PMs" which is under "Edit Options".
See the pic attached.
Next to Private Messages ( at top left ) you will see a triangle. Click on that and you can choose between messages in and messages sent.

Christine, like baglo alluded to, you likely have left the "Save a Copy of Sent Messages" box unchecked. If you go to "Edit Options" in your "User CP", and in the Private Messages area click the box at the bottom.

In another forum using similar software, I found the "saved sent" option annoying, because it left messages from other members and my responses (or vice versa) in separate folders. Instead of checking that box, I put my own username on the Bcc box, so I get a copy of my own messages, in the same folder as what I receive from others. Unfortunately, I need to remember to do that each time, and occasionally I forget.
Thanks, guys! Spot on - pesky little box not checked! I like Brian's idea too. I tend to do that with emails because otherwise I forget to clean out the "sent" folder from time to time.
