Stolen Escape 19' (South Surrey)
Owners,
My parents Escape 19' was stolen from their front drive way in South Surrey. I will update this thread with the license plate number. Also the stabilizers were not with the trailer so they would not be visible. I don't know about the lights being connected. The police said it was likely headed east either to Alberta or even further.
Please watch your own trailers and post to this thread if you have any information.
Thanks for your time.
Simon.

I'm sorry to hear about the theft. The plate number would be good (presumably a B.C. plate), but the thief will presumably change that, so it might help to have photos showing the style and colour of graphics and any unusual features.

Suggest you also post this on fiberglassrv.com ...there will be some overlap but you will reach a broader audience of fiberglass campers! The more eyes out there the better. Good luck!

So sorry to hear this. When I'm in cities or boondocking with the trailer unhooked as we scout the area or go hiking, I think about how simple it is to hook up. I bought a California immobilizer trailer boot and I always lock the hitch but these are minor problems to a thief intent on taking it. Hope the insurance was adequate. Our thoughts are with your parents. Being robbed is a terrible feeling.

Some more detail on the trailer would help identify it if anyone sees it.

And I would add "the sooner the better" Photos especially. We're only a few days past the Escape Rally and there's still lots of Escape owner's out there on the road. We all have an interest in spotting and looking at other Escapes.

Also, what's the timeline? Could it have been "on the road" mid-day Sunday?

Update
The trailer was stolen last night.
Original License Plate is: URP 88P
2011 Trailer.
It had blue "Escape 19" writing on the front window cover.
It had a Buena Vida Restaurant Sticker on the spare tire cover.
It also had a Chihuahua decal on the left rear corner.
White painted entry step.

I wouldn't be looking for it being towed.
I expect it is on a flat-bed truck, under a tarp. Can worry about hitch locks and such later.

The unique decals are good information, although a smart thief would have peeled those off by now. Fortunately, thieves are often not smart...

Sure, but it is later... it can't take very many hours to defeat any locks. A travel trailer on a flatbed is a novelty which attracts attention; one on the road behind a pickup or SUV is ordinary and unnoticed.

I'm sorry to learn of the loss. How traumatic. We certainly will keep our eyes out. Craig's list might be a place to look as well. I hope they catch the thieves. Some have added a roof decal for the ease of spotting it from the air. I'm sure the forum members who learn of this will keep their eyes out for one with blue graphics as a license plate may be changed as well. I wish your parents good luck.

I was telling my wife this morning before reading this that I need to start installing the pin lock on our 5.0 every time we leave the campground to go explore an area. We are naïve to think that the theft of our boat/trailers or RVs won't happen even at home.

I hate "Lessons Learned," but I always learn lessons from others.
Keep getting the word out. The strangest contact may get this trailer home. Share with everyone you know, the WWW and social media are truly amazing.

Well, that certainly is crappy. So sorry to hear this. Things like this just get my blood boiling. Bloody idiots do this and get little compensation when they sell it too. Makes me wanna punch the jerk(s) if ever found.

Is there any word on your stolen Escape. That would be so maddening,I would be just sic over it.Hope they can find it.
Maybe it would be worth putting a unique decal on the top ,were thieves wouldn't look ,so it can be easily identified. They all look the same except for the colour decal differences, while going down the highway at a glance.
I need to get back in the habit of using the trailer hitch lock at campgrounds .I also use a wheel boot when parked at home just off the back alley.
