Where to stay in Chilliwack

We will pick up our new Escape 21 early on June 6 and plan to spend the night of June 5 in Chilliwack. We are bringing all the stuff we unloaded from our 19’ Escape which we sold last December. We do not want to unload our Toyota Sequoia the night of June 5.
Escape suggests three motels:
Sure stay by Best Western
The Royal Hotel Chilliwack
The Hampton Inb
We would appreciate any information, thoughts, experiences concerning these three motels.
Thanks
Bob and Marilyn

where to stay

Sure Stay is literally 100m from Escape and decent. I've stayed there picking up both my trailers. There was a rate available if you mentioned Escape but not sure if they still do that.

Yes, and a good restaurant and bar on-site!

Best Western allows pets, gives you free breakfast and a discount. But watch the beer in the bar, the Canadian brew is somewhat more alcohol than the american near beer. I really enjoy their cold beer system, a frosty mug with water sprayed inside then filled with your beverage, the ice and water really makes it frosty and frothy....

Thanks for the suggestions. Living in Bend, I am quite familiar with strong beer. One of our concerns is whether our belongings will be safe in a motel’s parking lot.

I wouldn't leave anything in the motor vehicle overnight. When I picked up Ten Forward, stayed at the Best Western, it was strongly suggested I bring everything inside. Five totes using a big luggage cart... I slept better. Theft of your belongings would really put a big damper on this whole experience. Truly for me, it only took a couple of minutes for piece of mind.

In 2014 Terry and I stayed at Riverview Bed and Breakfast and since then I haven't noticed anyone else mentioning so I just googled it and it appears to still be in business. https://ruthmatilskyworld.wordpress.com/2014/06/ This is the link to my blog post where I mention the B&B. It was wonderful! Not right next door to Escape, but a short drive away and the hostess pampered us, which we truly welcomed after our long drive from New Jersey. I believe they even take pets. When we were there we had the whole downstairs to ourselves but they told us to feel free to use the upper deck as well as the downstairs deck. https://www.riverviewchilliwack.com/rooms__rates We actually stayed there for two nights before we picked up the trailer.

Another vote in favor the Best Western. We stayed there for a few days each in 2016 and 2017, all good.

But watch the Tanqueray at the liquor store next door. Canadian Tanqueray is only 80 proof. It's 94 proof in the U.S.!

I second that. Chilliwack, unfortunately, has a reputation for folks in transit leaving all their worldly possessions in their vehicle overnight only to find their vehicle was looted overnight. Folks in transit with a marked vehicle like a U-Haul fare even worse.

If you’re staying that close to Escape, check to see if Escape would let you leave your vehicle within their fenced lot. Their dogs do a great job patrolling!

This is a good thought. If you stay at the Best Western it is only a 5 minute walk to the Escape office.....if you walk slow.

Sounds like staying at the Best Western and taking our possessions into the motel room makes a lot of sense.
Thanks

I would certainly second the River View B&B. Nice folks, nice room, great breakfast, safe location. Less than 1/2 mile from Escape. Discount for Escape customers

Most U.S. folks would never believe it, being all glossy-eyed over going to pick up their trailer they couldn't just buy nearby. And it's Canada....this can't be happening! But it does/is. Too bad.

We also stayed at Riverview before we picked up our trailer in 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. And we were also fortunate enough to be the only guests so we had the run of the bottom floor. It's in a residential neighborhood and you can park in the driveway so your 'out of state' license plate is less likely to be noticed.
