Someone with the standard dinette wouldn't need a front to back table, but those with a u-shape dinette would... how else would someone get to the back area of the dinette... unless the table moved front to back?

Agree Donna. If it didn't move front to back, we couldn't fit anyone in the back. rbryan4, perhaps a call to ETI might solve the mystery.

On my 17B with the U Dinette I can remove the rear pedestal and turn the table to move it to and fro. Admittedly it's not as stable but not much less stable than with both pedestals.

Interesting indeed. I'll call Escape and ask. In any case it shouldn't be hard to modify myself. What I really want to install is one of these:

https://dicorproducts.com/catalog/ta...able-pedestal/

It allows the table to slide in 4 directions and it drops with a single pull of a lever. So far though, no RV dealer/parts place I've spoken to has ever heard of it.

I thought that was a very interesting video on your link, Robert.

I like to cook and feel like my 17 (when it arrives) may not have enough food prep surface prior to cooking outside. This might be an answer.

However how much space do you need to prep your 2" Rib-eye for the BBQ?

For me, not much. Just enough room for a salt and pepper grinder.
