Early Christmas Present

Hi everyone, we are the lucky family to buy the 15A advertised on the Escape website. We were not planning to buy one for another year or so but after talking with Tammy (we live 30 minutes away) we decided that this was a great opportunity as it sounds like the production of 15s might slow down a bit for the next while. We don't even have a TV yet - any good suggestions for a 15?

Our style of camping is off the grid so we added the solar panel, dual 6V batteries, dual propane and spray foam. The other extras were an extra 12 volt outlet, 2 reading lights, cabinet door at end of bench, additional LED brake lights, and the LED porch light. The trailer already was bike rack ready, had the extra insulation and thermal windows and the interior LED lights.

I have been hanging around this site for the past year or so and I really appreciate all the knowledge and advice available. Instead of having 6 months for decide on our options, we had a week! Reading how others made their option decisions sure helped! There were a couple of things no longer possible to add, but over all, we were able to incorporate all our priorities. We will pick it up in March and hope to head to Utah in April to give it a good first run.

We are the second Escape owners on our little street. I will add our names to the map.

Wonderful! I hope you enjoy your 15A as much as I do Egbert...simplicity at its best. Congratulations...

Cool beans! Isn't it exciting? I've waited for years for this build to happen (5er TA). Thought I'd have a couple more years... time waits for no one! I finally decided, it not now... when? I hope you make many, many memories with your new 15A.

Ditto here, we love our 15-A and I'm sure you will as well. We have many of the same options! Good choices made. Have fun.

I just noted the disproportionate number of 15 owners who welcomed E&E to the forum. We seem to come out of the woodwork to embrace a fellow member whose lifestyle decrees that small is good with fewer concerns and issues. Yeah for the Escape 15s...may they ever increase in number!

Congrats E&E... life is too short, and families grow up way too fast. Smart move, enjoy it now, while you can. Those memories will never be taken away from you or your family!

According to the production calendar Escape will not be making the 15' after next summer. Seems they will be focusing on the larger units.

I'm fortunate that I bought one when I did then; otherwise I would be looking (and probably in vain) for the perfect trailer for me as I have no need or desire for a larger unit. It is a good thing they are so well made and should last for years.

Edited: I just looked at the schedule and see several 15s available in October and December so I don't think they should be written off yet!

I really can't imagine Escape dropping the 15. It does seem to be fairly popular. If my wife had of been willing to forgo the bathroom, I would have strongly considered the 15A, as I think it has by far the best layout for the given space of all the Escape offerings.

What it says is:

15' Escape - Aug 25, 2014 Please note this will be the last available date for 2014

It is last available date, not last trailer.

I didn't see that. They haven't updated their actual calendar then as available dates are still showing in October and December.

Welcome

Welcome aboard E&E from another brand new Escape owner. I'm planning on making the Escape Rally at Lake Osoyoos for one of our first major foray's with our new 19. Hope to see you there and congratulations again for making a very wise decision.
