Exciting purchase

Hi all,
We are very excited to share our news! Yesterday we officially purchased BIRKEN’s beautiful 2016 5.0TA in North Vancouver! The trailer is in perfect condition which speaks volumes of the previous owners Bob and Joanne! Our first trip will be to beautiful Tofino on Vancouver Island! Thanks to all the forum members for helping us become familiar with the ins and outs of the Escape trailers. Looking forward to connecting with some of you when the opportunity presents itself!

Welcome Lynn! And congratulations! You will love it!
Now dogs coming along camping is common, but a parrot...?
Hope to meet you all some time!

Thanks to everyone for for their good wishes!

Our leisurely trip back home via Nanaimo with a much anticipated night at “The Living Forest RV Park” was cut short due to the first snowfall of the year! With overnight temps of -2C/28F expected we wasted no time purchasing an air compressor and RV antifreeze. We busied ourselves following the much appreciated winterizing advice from BIRKEN and then dragged our sorry asses into bed exhausted. We did however allow ourselves to imagine about the many exciting adventures yet to come!

Hi Lynn,
We have a 2015 21 and have slid through a few nights at 23f. Not super comfy mentally, but no problems so far.
We do not have tank heaters or underbody foam.

Likewise Marry!
Believe it or not our parrot is a great traveller and less work than our golden retriever!
We never really thought too much about where we would place her cage before purchasing our trailer and thankfully there was one and only one place that was suitable, on the counter to the right of the door.
When I inquired about crossing the border with her I was amazed to learn that a parrot from Canada is allowed to enter the US without a quarantine period. However, once the customs agent began listing the number of permits required and who required them I quickly changed my mind.
