FGRV Lurker

Hi All,
We are not Escapees at this point but could be in the future. We have been enjoying our 16' Scamp for the last 2 years, and will be travel trailer owners from now on. The only negatives we have with the Scamp are the bed being too narrow, and not enough real estate on the roof for a couple of solar panels. It tows with our little Jeep and is easy to handle and maintain which makes it hard to justify trading up. If we upgrade the tow vehicle, I will make sure it is up to the task of handling a 19' Escape, and be ready to make the jump in the future.

Welcome to our little fiberglass world, Russ. Once you get a chance to inspect an Escape you will definitely want to upgrade. Contact the factory by clicking here Escape Trailer Industries > Home
and they can give you contact info of one near you. There is also a map here https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid...bed&dg=feature
but not all owners are on the map.

Welcome! We're in Midland, TX, so not that far from you. If you ever come through town, we'd be happy to show off our 19' .

Thanks,
It may be a little early to check out the Escape as we have no capable tow vehicle at this time. The Wrangler is marginal for our 16. The map Jim linked shows Steve and Margarita have a 19 in Escondido which is just 20 minutes from me. An older full sized pickup may be our best towing option since it will only be doing towing and will just sit around in between camping. Fuel mileage is not that important, as we don't stray far from home. A V8 would be good in the mountains. We will probably get the tug before upgrading the trailer. The jeep could if required pull the 19 home, due to its automatic leveling air suspension, but wouldn't be that good long term.

Codeman,
Thanks for offering a viewing of your trailer. I neglected to list my state in my info. I fixed that, so am now a Californian!
